I was talking to someonetoday and they were trying to tell me that the t-maxx topped out around only 30 mph...is this true? If not how fast wll they go?

The 2.5 will do in the mid 40's.

They may have been talking about the 1st generation version.

I wonder how possibly fast could a t-maxx go... :) With foam slick tires of course.

Id like to get a speed meter and check my sirio.18 maxx :)
befor I gera it diff for more low end grunt.

Top speed is gearing and power plant dependent. I have heard of T-Maxxes that top out above 50mph, but they are far from stock and certainly not right out of the box.

The old style stock T-Maxx could do about 30-35 mph out of the box...on a good day with the wind at its back.

The new style stock T-Maxx is advertised as being able to do 40-45 mph out of the box. Since, I have not personally witnessed this...I reserve my comments. Is it possible? Yes. Is it probable? No.

Well like other's have pointed out to an extent. Their's allot of factors and variables to consider. You need to keep in mind that Alltitude is one of the biggest variables to consider. Higher alltitudes = less oxygen and less power. The higher your gearing the more top end speed your going to have.

WHen Traxxas test their cars they're doing it with the stock gearing that's geared for top end speed @ sea level. I ran my buddies Stock T-maxx with the stock gearing in San Diego (sea level) the highest speed we could attain was 41.8 MPH so Traxxas isn't lying..lol. He's running a big bore now with even higer gearing and I wouldn't be suprised if it could top out @ around 48+ MPH.
