I just got done running my T-maxx for the first time and I love it I can't believe how fast it is compared to my electric ruslter lol I was curious on how to tune it it runs good but stalls alot when at a low idle and it seems to smoke quiet a bit I'm new to nitro cars so dont know if this is normal but so far I LOVE IT its just a 1.5 but its a new motor and it Rocks I can't imagine what a 2.5 must be like. Thanks for all the help I have recieved so far from memebers of this site.

The truck engine that you are running is not a 1.5 its a .15 and the 2.5 that yo ucant imagine in it is the .25 not the 2.5. Thats ok though your new and learning just like i was when i got into this hobby. Traxxas calls the engine in the t-maxx a 2.5 but its a .15ci (Cubic Inches) engine. Oh and you sadi it stalling in the begining dois it sound boggy or crisp? Most likely a little bit lean, might have to richen the hsn (High speed needle) a tad. Good luck with and have fun, its a great hobby.

Thanks for the info about the motor. :) The motor isnt boggy it does however resond slowly and as far as the needle turning it in leans out the mixture? Thanks Jesse

If you are seeing plenty of smoke, & the throttle response is slow, then your most likely running a bit rich. This is a good thing while breaking in the engine..
After about 5 or 6 tanks, start to lean out the HIGH SPEED needle in 1/8th" increments. (turn it clockwise to lean it out) After each 1/8th" increment, run it around a bit to see the difference in performance. You'll get the hang of it after a few tweaking sessions... Remember... SMOKE is a good thing... NO SMOKE IS BAD.... just ask Humboldt.... lol
Good luck....

I bought it used from ebay and the motor had been run already it has been rebuilt but it was broken in when i got it
