RC Driving Style
I just bought a new T-MAXX TRX 2.5 last week, I have been out of the RC Hobby scene for several years. But out of impulse I drove to the local hobby shop and bought one.

I like it, and I am trying not to spend big bucks, (although its eating at me to buy, buy and buy more parts).

Now my questions are simple, and I am sure the pro's on here can help me.

1. I see the FOC and my question is I see the one from Traxxas and it has the shaft, but it has a plastic gear. I want the one from Robinson but I see it comes in Aluminum and Steel, and there is no shaft, so I assume I use the original shaft, is that correct?? And which one do I need Steel or Aluminum.

2. When I am going really fast shrough a turn, it flips easy, what shocks and springs would you guys recommend putting on it.

Any onther tips for tuning this thing will be greatly appreciated.

1. I run all RRP steel and they have been holding up fine. I'm also running a 21 conversion. You should be fine running the traxxas plastic FOC if your going to stick with the stock engine. If you must have RRP, then I would suggest running the aluminum one since it's lighter and it's running up against plastic gears. Yes, it uses the stock reverse/output shaft.

2. Buy better shocks... At least, get heavier springs. Run 1 stock and 1 trinity BLACK spring on all 4 corners with 50weight oil. It should smooth things out a bit for you. Also, leave out the ride hight clips. Having it stand tall makes it easier to roll.

I have the stock springs with one of the largest (approx. 1/2 inch) spacers on all four corners, plus what came on there stock, with 50W oil. The biggest thing I would suggest is an aftermarket cooling head. I personally have a Golen Horizon. It makes all the differance in the world when it comes to temps, and more importantly mine had trouble running a complete tank before I put it on. Good luck!
