I have had to many on road roll overs and the antenna ( blue plastic) cracked in half , right where it comes through the roof so i am going to replace that. But you know how there is extra antenna wire comming out of the top of the blue plastic antenna shield. Well that broke off and now the wire is even with the top of the blue antenna. Is there a way to replace the wire? I know its now going to be a pain to feed threw the new plastic antenna cover i just figure if i can replace the wire at the same time.

It would require soldering directly to the RX circuit board. If you have soldering skills it should be easy. If not a LHS should be able to do it for a fee. Most importantly though is to maintain the OEM length other wise you may get diminished range or poor reception. To slide it through the antenna tube, lightly lube it with a non petroleum based lubricant and give the tube a twist as you thread it through.

Sure, when it comes to trying to slip a wire into the blue tube try using a little oil like 3-in-1 or some spit to make it slide through easy, and when it comes to replacing the wire that goes into the receiver, if you needed to replace that, you would have to take a part the receiver and solder a new wire in.....one time i had this happen right at the receiver and the wire was about 2-inches long, at the time i did not feel like soldering so i spliced it and it worked just fine, by splicing i mean connecting another wire to the short broken one with some sort of connector, the one i used at the time was a straight blue one, but for the blue tube you can get those most anywhere....hope it helps....

Like dude said ^^^ solder a new wire in if you can, would be best, splicing it would ware down on the radio signal, but in emergency situations, splicing will usually still work, just sometimes not the best..

I will actually take some oil, like 3-in-1, every so often, and literally will oil the blue tube, if it gets too dry from dirt and such it will crack, but if it is a moist plastic, it tends to take more of a beating...

Thanks for the replys. I will take out the controller and take it apart to see what i am looking at. As for the blue tube antenna cover, it broke right at the roof line from rolling a few to many times and it being cold out it is probaly fragile.

use baby powder
put some in the palm of your hand and run the antenna wire thru it a few times so its coated and then slip it thru the tube.
works great for me every time
