Are those like Big Joe size?

(That carb thing was too friggin' easy. Duh.)

Yeah, a real tough one.... j/k man lol
The blue tires look too damn cool. The greens are a tad on the fruity side.... but then I'll have to get rims, adaptors & tires...
Runnin out of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Doh, I guess everyone was posting at the same time:coffee:

First, how do u put the little "o" for degrees??

I spun mine all the way around on my 2.5 didn't notice any probs. So I don't see why you couldn't.

I shoulda looked at the carb a little closer before I went through the trouble of illustrating what shouldn't have been a problem.

Hold <Alt> and press 0 1 7 6

Almost done.

I should have the clutch and RRP conversion spur tomorrow. Beyond that I need to pick up some of that tubing insulation for the fuel and pressure lines. I'm thinking about fashioning a tubing guide so the pressure line doesn't ride against the pipe and the header.

The pipe has been reworked for the last time. You can see a plug of JB Weld where the pressure fitting was previously relocated. It was also necessary to drill new holes in the header and pipe flanges for the mounting springs but I only did that once.

I was very pleased to see that the tail of the ti rear skid plate rests very neatly against the RPM bumper. I have a feeling ass-landings will do little to this ride.

The brakes work like a champ. Tacoma Screw had some longer-shouldered screws for the brake shoe mounts and they now operate silky smooth.

WoodiE? I sent you a pm regarding the tubing insulation you had. Still have it?

This is my last post on this thread. I thought the conversion was done several days ago. During the second phase of break-in (not just idling on the porch) I found that the e-clip fastening the clutch bell to the shaft was working itself down the shaft as I ran the vehicle across the parking lot where I work.

To Kwong and Nitro Dave, this is about four hours after you saw me at Tacoma RC Raceway.

There wasn't enough of the engine shaft groove exposed past the clutch bell to grip with the e-clip.

The engine was removed again. The clutch bell needed to move in a just a hair on the shaft so the e-clip could be installed. This was accomplished by removing the flywheel nut and Dremeling a few thousandths of an inch off each end.

I call this shaving the nut.

In any case it worked. The second to last shave allowed the clip to be installed but there was detectable binding in the clutch bell as the bearings were being mildly pinched. A few more passes on the nut with the Dremel and the clutch bell now fits beautifully with no axial play.

Here's pics. The last two are the finished product.

Very obvious you put a lot of time and effort into it. Nice ride!

NICE,
All your hard work and meticulous detail paid off. Congratulations on a job well done. :worship:

Gil,
Drop WoodiE a PM about shielding.

what clutch bell are you using? i've got the same mill and i have problems with getting a proper fit using the same ofna flywheel nut that you show in one of your illistations. the cb only covers the first 1/2 of the shoes.

I saw this truck last saturday, and wdavidhicks has done a very nice jorb building that truck. All the litte details were taken care of. I look forward to seeing it run.

Thank you all for the kind compliments.

StrechM, It's a Fioroni clutch and clutch bell. The spur gear is a conversion that was specially made to fit on an RRP slipper.

Your clutch bell problem may well be attributed to the disparity that exists between 1/10 scale 32 pitch SAE and 1/8 scale 32 pitch metric.

I'm curious how your .21 maxx compares to my hyper 8 savage. When we were at the track, I got a few compliments of how fast my savage was.

I was owning on the straight...and I was going pretty good on the turns, until I blew a gear on my reverse, then I became to conservative and was way slower.

Yep especially with those UE diffs laying all the power to the ground.

I haven't driven mine in months now. I'll probably take her out this weekend and Race Saturday night.
