I am wanting to purchace a new MT and am having great difficulties deciding...
I like the torq from the .21 in savage ,love the speed from T-Max
but what about the .18 in the Terra Crusher (Tamaya)
its an impressive truck with good reviews but can it hold up to the Max or Savage????

What to do....What to buy.....

Please only post a question once, in one forum. As for what truck to get, I would say your decision is between the Max 2.5 and the Savage. Both are great trucks, the Terra Crusher doesn't even rate in my book.

Terra crusher is slow as hell and handles like a brick STAY AWAY!!! My friend has one he let me drive it a couple times. The T maxx is your best bet its the only one that wheelies and the engine is breathtaking:bling: It is also the best handling truck with the new wide suspension.

Good luck!!:D

i would also vote out the terra crusher , blah ... as for the savage and the tmaxx. i would say t maxx based on speed.

Its a VERY tough debate between the TMaxx and the Savage. I too dont go with a TCrusher, but, again this is just everyones opinion.

I have both the Savage and the TMaxx and look at it like this:

Both of them are RTR and have their respective hopups required.

As follows:

TMaxx:
DogBones need to be installed (front, center, rear)
A Arms need to be replaced with RPM
Minimal 2 point rollbar for some type of protection
Big Bore shocks or some other shock upgrade
Forward Only Conversion
Fuel Filter
Failsafe
HighTorque Steering Servo
5 Cell hump pack

Savage:
Hyper 8 port to blow away the T
4lb Shock Springs
Heady Duty Dogbones (HPI's are fine)
HPI massive air flow air filter
Fuel Filter
Failsafe
HighTorque Steering Servo
5 Cell hump pack

All in all, to make them VERY competitive you will drop some $$ on hopups. Either of them is an exceptional performer out of the box.

The TMaxx is less durrable in my opinion but has the speed with the 2.5 mill.

The Savage is tough as nails but lacks on the out of box mill to keep up with the Maxx.

They are both GREAT trucks.

At the end of the day though, I would take the Savage.

i personally like the terra crusher out of the 3. You can pick up a used one pretty cheap, do a .21 conversion and you have an awesome truck. The suspension is way better then the t-maxx's will ever be. The tc's suspension soakes up bumps...while the t-maxx bumps along. I am still using stock driveshafts with my .21 terra crusher. The only thing i broke was my spur and that was my fault b/c i set the gear mesh wrong.

That interesting, you say the TC has a better suspension than the max? I have seen a stock TC run, and from what I seen, the suspension is right up there with the Radio shack specials. My T2.5 not only easily out handles a TC, but destroys it in speed. A guy I befriended and the LHS had one, we spent about three hours tweaking it to really see what it had, at the end, he sold it and bought a Savage. Even though a Savages stock engine isn't as fast as the 2.5, it still smokes the TC. IF you have dialed that thing dialed in as good as you say, then I really have to take my hat off to you. One thing that you mentioned was how cheap you can pick one up used, yup, the LHS I goto has about six of them because no one wants them.

I can't speak on behalf of the TC, but what I have heard and read here I wouldn't waste my time.

I have both a T-Maxx (the old version seriously hopped up) and a brand new Savage 21 with hop-ups installed before I have even broken it in.

I put my T-Maxx through its paces and it keeps coming back for more. I expect the same from my Savage. I have upgraded the mill on both, upgraded the suspension on both, and have a battery of other tweaks and mods to keep the truck in one piece while I beat on it.

For the money, I think you would be happy with either, but if you want an inexpensive 21, the Savage is great for the money. To get the same starting with a straight T-Maxx, you'd end up spending enough money to buy a Savage anyway.

Regardless of which truck you buy, be prepared to spend money. Now that you want to enter this level of the RC hobby, you will see that nothing comes cheap.

Just to let you know I'm running a .21 in the Terra Crusher. I dont see how you can compare the TC Suspension with those Radio Shack Specials. The TC's suspension is unbelievable. I believe its better then the proline suspension kit that i have on my maxx. I know the 2.5 will kill a stock .18 terra crusher in speed. And i can gaurentee the 2.5 doesn't out handle the TC stock for stock. The stock engine is junk. All the TC needed was some attention and a big bad .21. It runs like it should of when it first came out. I would prefer to run my TC instead of my t-maxx (also .21) any day. In the steering department the t-maxx sucks, and i even upgraded the steering servo. I am using Jumbo Maxx's on the terra crusher and stock tires on my t-maxx and it is out turning the maxx. I am even using the stock servo in the TC.

Stock for stock the tc is a better buy. The transmission can withstand the power of almost any .21. The TC even with a stock .18 will climb way better then a 2.5 can ever dream of. The 2.5 is a good engine but it was built more along the lines of racing.

Anyway...Stock for Stock i still believe the TC is a better buy and will Crush any obstical in its path.

Savage. Get the hyper 8port and kik some TMac ass! O yeah, get a diff body though. A Savage easily beats T-Maxx in suspension, cornering, and speed-with the Hyper 8port. Savage all the way!

I've got a Savage and one of my older brother has the T-Maxx. That T-Maxx is one fast truck. We ran on a track we made and it was fun. The Savage jumps off the line, but the speed of the T-Maxx comes back at the end. The handling of the Savage is a bit better. We swapped and he liked my handling. Plus, the T-Maxx has reverse already. I'm jealous. Oh, and my Savage can pull wheelies. I've just got a MotorSaver filter and no other mods at the moment.

I'm liking the Savage... no doubt, the Maxx still rocks, but there's something aboot the savage that makes me want one more than a Maxx...
