ok, it's probably mostly my driving but i'm having one heck of a time keeping my tmaxx on 4 wheels around corners. anyway i was thinking of different ways to resolve this problem. one way would be to get the widemaxx conversion and make it a bit wider and lower the center of gravity. another way i thought might be to get a set of swaybars and put in on there. I was curious which of these solutions would be better off and if the sway bars even work on something this size.

thanks

I am not a pro but I think that if you go with the wide arms you will still tend to flip it going at a high speed in the corners. I have been told that the sway bars work wonders and that the do what they are supposed to do. Like I said I am not a pro like half these guys on here but atleast I can try to help out. If I am wrong then I am sorry

Also if you were to go with the sway bars, I believe that you would not be able to get crazy when you do some 4x4n in the rough terrain.

Do both I can run my maxx wide open and turn as hard as i want and not flip :) And yes sway bars will limit the amout of free travel your wheels have on rough ground, but not like you will see it on a track or out bashing.

hey guys, i had a real problem with my maxx coming out of corners and going through them. i had the rpm regular lenght a-arms but everytime i went to turn that dang thing would roll like crazy.
so then i decided i was going to go and get me some wider a-arms. so i went and got me the UE supermaxx widetrack suspension. I LOVE it, i can do a full speed run and turn at full speed and not have it flip. I have the XTM 24.7 so it is kinda hard to keep it on the ground, but when i got my new suspension it did the trick. i went and put ofna 9.5 shocks on it, made them a little bit looser and now she doesn't flip nor come off the ground.

if it was me i would just do the longer extended a-arms. but if those still dont work for u go and get the sway bars.

I have both on my emaxx, the only thing to kinda watch out for though is if you get a sway bar for it then dont get one that is overly heavy duty. I bought one made by i believe dynamite and it limited sway, but because it was SO thick it took away alot of the needed suspension action you need for turning on a tight track. I ended up just using a pc of music wire instead of the aftermarket bar and was much happier with the handling.

Also most trucks benifet from fr only sway bars.

ok, one more question for you guys. how much wider is the widemaxx/supermaxx/whatever than the regular t-maxx?

thanks much

quite a bit longer. i dont know the exact dimensions but they are longer. and then if u go with the supermaxx then they are even a hair bite longer than the extended ones.

hehe the reason i'm asking is if i get them i'll probably make them myself. anyway if anyone can give me a good estimate of thier length it would be appreciated.

thanks much

What sway bars do you have?

Mine are home made cost was about 3 bucks total, and I have enough extra to make about 5 more if I ever need to. Just look at your maxx its not like this is something hard to do.

I made a set of sway bars from a tig welding rod. It's thin, light, very flexible and cost next to nothing to make.

I made one from 1/8" music wire, and it was way too stiff. I was just wondering what else is out there.

What did you mount the wire to? Pictures?

Gilbequick the easiest way to "mount" a homemade sway bar like i did is to just ziptie it down!

ya, that is exactly what my friend did was ziptie it down and it works good.

Sorry no pics :( But it was not hard to mount I used 1/16th brass tubing through the bumper mounts. That holds the main part of the bar in place. And and the A-arms I drilled two small holes and ran a small bolt (screw) through them to tie rod ends where the ends of the sway bar is held in place.
