Straight antenna sleeve?

This might be the silliest question ever but is it possible to straighten the damn plastic antenna sleeve? My LHS sells it off a roll and I've tried rolling, messaging, boiling, bending... It but it always ends up going back to curved.

I have to assume a straight antenna would have better range?

yes remove the sleeve use a hair dryer a wet napkin to cool down fast not to much heat

So then it needs to be hotter than the 212° I'm getting from the boiling water to be permanent?
I can try that...
