Ok I've about had it with My 2.5...

I run it for the first 1/4 tank and it runs fine but when I hit 3/4 and it will bog down at Idle and Die( Idle is at the point where it lurches badly)...... I had it running good but then I Drilled out the pipe (stock pipe) and I richened it up some and It started doing it again.. I have tried to tune it so It doesn't die but it still wont quit dying at idle (no matter if I richen it up or lean it out)....

I have also noticed tons of nitro grime on my Chassis by the back of the engine So I am thinking it might be an air leak... Does this conslusion sound plausable(sp?)???????

and If I have to what kind of silicone would be best to use to seal it????

hmm...check your backplate and make sure it's screwed tight. Also, check and make sure your header is on tight.... and check your exhaust coupler. Check to see if your head is down tight. Hell, just go around your engine and check all the screws!
Use a silicone, sensor safe type of gasket maker. It works great for sealing up those stubborn leaks.

Idle blues

I had thge same issues with my 2.5 (which I recently sold after getting myself a Sirio .18)

My main issue was the LSN, so I did the pinch test and got that sorted first. I then fine tuned the idle settings :)
After that it did idle but would cut out occasionaly for no reason at all.
I found that removing the bodyshell solved a lot of my idling issues. After that I drilled a nice big hole in the windscreen and since then my (now sold) TRX 2.5 idled like a babe.

hmmm.... I have cooling holes in all My bodies so I Guess I will Try the lsn some more... And it was dieing without the body on so The didn't do anything....

I also sealed it up to so I will see if that helps..

I will have to do with my 2.5 for now at least until I can afford a sirio..

ya make sure that u have air holes in ur bodys. when i had first gotten my t-maxx i didnt put any holes in it and my truck never ran good with it on. so when i took it off it worked perfect. but then by cutting the holes in the front it let the air circulate throughout the body and keep the engine cooler.
but i dont have to worry about that anymore considering the head of my engine sits level with the top of the body!!

one more thing u had said that u had seen grim coming out by the back of ur engine? make sure that the backplate is on all the way tight, that can cause it too leak. but it might just also be exhaust leaking out of the exhaust pipe.

Always check your screws rember what happend to myne that on time when I just broke in my sirio, or my dads for that matter. Its always a good idea to check all the screw and nuts on a R/C car they might vibrate loose.

KK That's what I did first.... and The grime was from my fuel tank leaking, so I slapped my extra on there so It should Fix that problem.. ( I fond this out whe I left fuel in the tank over night and when I got up in the morning the fuel was puddled on the floor)
