I'm know that the revo spur will go onto the max tranny, and it is a different pitch cause i just briefly checked and it doesn't mesh with my CB at all. i dont have a revo CB to compare though. i dont think it would be all that hard to modify the adjuster slots to move it over

65f1004x4 how many teeth are on your picco cb???

You can upgrade all those gears in there now with RRP steel. The top two speed input shaft/gear always existed, but they now also make the two main two speed gears!

I had that case with all steel RRP but the main two speed with a BB maxx for quite a while. Only burned out a couple sets of main two speeds, but I ripped through 3 or 4 top gears before I put in the RRP steel one.

I sold mine to a buddy of mine for $100 4 years or so ago... sure was purty. Mine had the RRP 1/8 pitch spur but had a stock brake disk.

Yhea I might get those now that you say that but I kind of like the idea of some plastic. If you get a chance in the next few days to show me a link or something like that. I would appriciate that.

RRP Steel 2 Speed Top Shaft
RRP Steel 1st gear
RRP Steel 2nd gear

Get a couple 6x11 bearings on hand. The RRP two speed top shaft uses a 6x11 on the end the spur gear assembly goes on which is larger than stock. I believe it comes with one, but I burned it up in short order. I replaced it with a boca green seal I think. It lasted much longer. This is a link to their 4-pack of 6x11x4's

Also, I just used axle grease on all my gears. I probably ran over 4 gallons on that trans before I sold it. I popped it apart just to see the wear prior to selling and the gears looked brand spanking new. Except for the two speed gears. They had a bit of wear on them, but they weren't bad.

Nice pipe, nice engine, nice shocks, stock arms, 3.3 bulks, crappy filter, crappy radio...

That trans will look good in that bad boy.

I'd suggest some good bulks, chassis rails, center skid, RCS front/rear skids and RPM arms... With all that and a solid trans, you will have many hours of fun between break downs. The only things left are diffs and axles. I don't know if 3.3 diffs will drop right in to a 2.5 maxx though. If they will, then I'd get those too. Then you won't have to worry about them for a while either.

The slider axles can be your weak point. Pretty cheap and easy to replace. You will more than likely blow a center one, typically the rear if your a wheelie nut or the front if you like heavy braking. Either way, they aren't to hard to take out and put in.

so which filter the durbo? or the air filter? I am working on all you said. but it will be arms be first then the skids then the other. Tax time is coming,I have a little girl coming in Feb. so I want it done by the mid feburary.

The air filter. It's restrictive, especially for a mid-block engine. There are many out there that are better suited for off roading. The traxxas one gets dirty quick since it's exposed surface area is so small.

That's kind of cool about the b-day. Your 2 years older than me, like my wife.

I will get one or bigger if I can find one. what about the radio? and upper and lower arms or just upper? I am not even sure it has lower. All the front will be dteel and rear also better diffs.

What's dteel?

Upper/Lower arms, I'd go with RPM.

For a radio, the sky is the limit... depends on what you want to spend. The 2.4Ghz radios are really taking off. They are great for bashers and racers due to their reliability and range capabilities.

Supposedly the 3.3 diffs are stronger than the old 2.5 diffs. I'm not sure how true that is, but they would have to be somewhat stronger or the 3.3 would chew them up.

what about K@N air filter and RPM bulkhead braces to start off with? Sound ok?

I got the tranny today and that thing is sweet!! I have it all tore down waiting for a few parts. I have a fuel and air filter coming a K@N. I need a name to have painted on the body. Got to have a custom paint job on the beast!! And a buddy does custom paint jobs at a custom body going to shoot it. Man I can't wait!

Both K&N and RPM are excellent and trusted brands. Good choice with both. I don't ever remember hearing a complaint about either one of those.

I can't tell if your being sarcastic or not... I wouldn't think so with RPM, but possibly with K/N.

The K/N filter used on RC's has been a debate since I've been in the hobby.

Steel/ hardned metal i meant. What do you think I should do first.

I'd do trans, bulks, arms, radio, servos. In that order.

You already have the trans.
Bulks break frequently and are annoying to replace. (I have a few recommendations when your ready and your wallet has built up again)
Stock arms break pretty easily, but aren't as annoying to replace.
A decent radio will almost be a requirement if you get new/better servos so you can set EPA's properly and not burn up a nice new servo.

You can finish off putting steel in the trans until later. I'd just do that prior to getting a bigger engine.
