Will any small block engine fit right in my jato 3.3 ? I ask this all the time and still can't get any reply....every body is using the O.S motors BUT what about other name brand small block motors ? Please somebody HELP a R/C brother out !
I hear that people are running .12's / 18s and .21s motors...... what about the ofna motors ?

Any with the right config will work, but will require alternate parts to do so. TRX headers aren't compatible with anything but purpose build engines as traxxas drop ins. So at the very least, you would need a new header if your running a non traxxas engine.

Other than that, pull-start, slide carb, pilot shaft, rear exhaust are the items you have to have regardless of brand/make of engine. At least the easiest. If you had a standard shaft, you'd have to cut the crank and get an adapter.

I think the OFNA mid-block engines (picco 26/picco red dot 26/picco maxx 21) require an OFNA mount to fit in the maxx/revo. I'm not sure if it's to move the engine or if it's the mounting ears on the engine or the height of the crank case that requires the OFNA mount in those rigs.

Dynamite 15, requires clutch adapter and header: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=DYN0882
Dynamite .19, drop in: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=DYN0700
Losi 3.4, not sure what it would need: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSR2100
Force .12, requires header: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXUH46&P=0
OFNA .12, requires header: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXSCN2&P=0

I've got a Losi 3.4 if you're looking for a new engine. It came out of my Losi Ten-T. I still have the ROSS System for it too ;-) It has a fresh pinch on it with @ 5 tanks run through. It's FAST. I've got the tuned pipe and header with it too...
