I have a question about this engine. It has med. block which I realize is smaller than .21 motors so it fits in the tmaxx/revo. But it still has a larger displacment then a .21 so does this mean it will have more power then some .21s or does the medium block effect its power. Would it have more power with a standard block? THnks

I read a review of the Sirio .23 in RC car action and according to them it has just as much power as a .21 BB if not more. In the test the Sirio .23 pushed a T-Maxx to 41 mph. And the reviewer said with the right gearing it could reach 50+ easy.

what motor did you put in and what was involved? I was thinking about a 40 th spur w/ close ratio gears, then once the 2.5 bites it(or I just plain want"more power") slipping in a BB.
Any advise you or anyone can give would be greatly appriciated

i am currently working on the Sirio .23 in the Revo. I used the wide ratio gears and foward only conversion. I did not want to use a big blosck motor because I feel it would upset the weight of the truck changing is great handling.

I have the SIRIO .23 in my REVO and it didn't bother the balance of the vehicle at all.I can still do front flips and backflips no problem..It juat has WAY more power then it did.I can hit wheelie's when it hit's second gear...

.23 Sirio
Sirio engine mount and manifold
Associated MGT Blue Pipe
Associated RC10GT wire pipe hanger

And these are the option parts I have added

Traxxas wide ratio gears
Traxxas foward only conversion

The wide ratio gears helps gear the truck better for the .23 Sirio
The MGT pipe was the only one I could find that was a good fit and decent for the motor. In January Trinity is coming out with a tuned exhaust one piece system for the Revo and .23 Sirio.

Thanks for the info guys! Is the Sirio .23 hard to keep tuned? Where did you pick yours up and for how much?

Are you using the Turbo Plug Button or the Standard? If you are using the Turbo Button what plug do you recommend? There are plugs listed on the motor box, but I think they are all standard plugs. I was thinking about using the O.S. P7 Turbo plug. ALso I was planning to break in the motor with the standard button because I usually go through a few plugs during breakin and the standard are cheaper. Then after breakin I was going to switgh to the Turbo Button. Or should I break in the engine with the button I plan to use.

Nick,
I emailed him a few days ago, will wait to see if he replies. I went to his website and couldn't find much info.
Have a Merry Christmas!!!

IMO I would break the engine with the standard button, You want to be really easy on it so the Piston and sleeve are lubed properly.

As far as holding a tune, I have yet to retune due to the needles backing out. I retune for weather conditions almost all the time to make sure I am not running too rich or too lean.

BTW I use the standard button.

i fnaly put the sirio in tonight and had a ques.
1. i can't get the throttle lingage o open the throttle the whole way. about 3mm to go?

It is the displacement of the motor that will make the power. How much aluminium is around the outside has nothing to do with it. So yes your engine will have more power than a .21.
And your other question; No, It would not have more power with a standard block.

Hope this helps
