SIGNS OF LIFE!!! I saw a switch ON the King Cab itself and things lit up inside. Still no movement...

Okay!! So I DO have some kind of POWER. It is still hooked up, helping "orientate" my battery... measured 8.95V on the multimeter. For a 7.2V battery! Anyways. Onward..

I am still looking for my camera to take a pic, but my Futaba Magnum Jr doesn't "control" it. I messed with the 4 knobs, do not know what they are supposed to be set to.

So. I am closer, but still not sure what I am doing..

Pics upcoming ?

Here is my controller or one just like it. The 4 knobs at the back are TOTALLY out of whack (thanks to me) and I do NOT know what they have to be set to, in order to communicate with my setup. Or if there is something newer in there that doesn't talk to the Magnum Jr at all.. My old one did... finding phone to take a pic of the unit with the power on.. Magnum Jr power at 100%...

It is an HPI RF-1 AM 27Hz (MHz?) Receiver...

Do I need a different Magnum Jr ?

I'm not sure an HPI receiver and a Futaba transmitter will work together. But first, pull the frequency crystals on each, and make sure they match up. If not, it's not even worth trying.

Futaba 75mhz HPI RF-1 27mhz don't bother trying any further. FS-GT2 less than $25 2.4ghz transmitter and receiver don't bother with AM and FM period just a suggestion (IMHO).

You will still need a 2.4ghz receiver for that HPI transmitter you linked will not work with your current 27mhz receiver.

The batteries should be fine I don't use nimh that much anymore though if at all.

Ebay is your friend for looking at a variety of choices and prices. If your are a Amazon Prime member you can get things faster but pay a little more.

Are you in the US?

The Futaba maybe a 75 Mhz an not a 27 ,the Hpi rec. may have been changed at a later date!

But anyway ,you would be good to go with what the other gentlemen suggested!....:thumbs-up:

^ I haven't done ANYTHING yet, but. I am watching this

Seems. : (no I've really never touched this before, seriously. Had this for like 5 years, today could be the day..)

Steering = Channel 1 (~4:43 in video)
Throttle = Channel 2 (~4:47 in video)
Bind plug (?Do not know what that is.. True newb, but if I apply myself, I can learn fast) = Channel 3

.. Wow, that seems almost too easy.

Let me see if I can go do this......

The FS-GT2E came yesterday!

It has been sitting here looking at me! :D

I haven't even opened the box yet.. but I am ready to make a go of it today.

Any super-easy install instructions?

I may be running the truck by tonight if it is so easy..............................

Its very easy ,its a plug an play!
The little loop wire is a binding wire ,but the trans. should be already bound with the rec.
Whats great about these systems is ,you can buy additional rec.'s for a few bucks to run
several other RC's with the same controller!

I have the FS-GT3 with the screen ,an I can actually program the name of my ride in.
That came with two rec.'s at only $28.00 bucks!

Good luck & have fun!....

^And I may be about to run it.

That took about 30 seconds and may be one of the easiest things I have ever had to do.

Let's see............ once these batteries charge up.........................................................................................

^ Should I put the binding wire in Channel 3 or do I even need to do that!? :D

In the video, I saw the guy put it in, then take it out after he turned it on...

No ,first you should just hook the battery & a servo up to see if its already bound!
Sometimes the factory binds the two together ,that is what the wire is for ,
an if you buy additional rec.'s ,you would have to use the wire to bind!

So ,I would check first to see if the factory has already binded the two together!...
