Would this combo work together well? Right now, I know I want to get a Castle Creations system, but I can't drop the cash for both an ESC and brushless motor. SO I was thinking, I know the Sidewinder is brushed compatible, so would it be feasible to buy the sidewinder and a new Titan for now and replace the Titan later with a brushless?

Just in case the info is needed, this is all going into a Traxxas Bandit (not the VXL version, obviously).

mines well get the complete brushless setup, you can get a e/z run off ebay for about 85 to 90 bucks.

i love sidewinders and if you just go up to 3s then its perfect in my opinion. my ez run died in 3 uses.

i would deff stick with castle. They havent done me wrong yet. I do like the velenion motor castle esc setup.... I just like running low KV.

Yes, it will work, however you will need to buy the castle link to program the esc. The default setting on the esc is for a brushless motor and will need to be changed before you run it with a brushed motor or you can damage the esc. I run the sidewinder in my AX10 with a Novak 55 turn brushed motor and it works great.

I had planned on buying the link anyhow. I know with the Mamba Max it comes with it, but the sidewinder....seperate purchase. Kinda lame but thats the way the cookie crumbles. I'm just tired of always having broken R/C's and right now trying to find a way to get my Bandit running again so its one less R/C car to fix and worry over lol.

Eh, same thing.

What connectors does the Sidewinder use for the motor? or do you have to attach you own battery and motor connectors?

Ill have to wait until the next payday to make my final decision, seeing as I already spent my R/C budget on spare parts for my Slayer. :D

Sidewinder you will need to put your own battery conector on I believe, and the motor wires come with bullet style conectors, Personally I just cut them off and solder the wires straight to the motor but that's me, and the sidewinder can be programed with out a castle link, you just can't use all of the features with out it, but you can program it into brushed mode as well as other things with out the castle link.

Ya learn something new everyday. lol

And thats good to know. I'm probably looking to convert my Slayer to an E-Slayer so this will take even longer to get the stuff for my Bandit. Still going with a Monster Momba Max for my E-Slayer though, if I decide to do it.

I dont wanna go to the dark side, I love my nitros! But its so hard to get fuel here.
