My buddie is having some problems with his shocks. We recently installed some new shocks on his T Maxx. Apparently when the truck bottoms out it shoots the cap off the shock. I was thinking that we needed to install some fuel tubing around the shaft to fix this problem. I was wanting some input on this to see if this will solve the problem.

How about some traxxas big bores, stiffer springs, more preload, the traxxas plastic shocks are known for doing this and suck, but there aluminum Big Bore shocks work realy well, also if your bottoming out and blowing off the shock caps, then it sounds like you don't have the truck set up for the type of driving your doing.

These arent t maxx shocks. These are aluminum threaded shocks. They resemble hot bodies brand. They have 50 wt oil in them. From what he tells me its knocking the end off that connects to the lower control arm.

So, the balljoint is ripping off the shock shaft? Sounds like you need better ball joints.

Pro-line had some that were heavy duty that I really liked when I had a maxx.
