I just picked up one of these at the LHS a couple weeks ago, but you can get them here as well.

You can use it to make shorter wire leads for your servos, esc, or anything else that uses a servo connector. The tool costs under $20 and a 5 pack of connectors/plugs cost about $5. Here is where you can get one online and they also have a nice write-up on how to crimp your wires properly.

Some pics of my shortened servo and ESC wires on my Vendetta. No more messy looking zip tied wires.

Try to use connectors that contact on 4 sides like these.

These have a more secure connection than the 3 sided ones.

Cool.

I want one. It will come in handy when using Hitec servos and the 12" of wire they seem to have on them.

It took me a few tries before I got the hang of it. I also put a tiny dab of solder on the connector, just to be on the safe side. Use a needle tip on your iron, and don't hold it too long or the connector will melt.

Thank you Sir.
Rob, get one fast so I can borrow it. :D
I'm all over this one, I hate long wires that get in the way.

3 Thumbs-Up for this tool.

Picked it up a couple of weeks back and it works flawlessly. It's nice to finally not have to bunch up the excess wires and wire tie them. Radio boxes are small enough without having to stuff a bunch of excess wire into them.

I have to raise this from the dead.

Used this tool last night to shorten the wires on my ERevo and boy what a difference. If you hate long ass servo and ESC wires, this tool is for you. Makes for a clean install.

I reduced the wiring by about 16" by shortening the ESC wire, throttle servo wire and my Y splitter wire.

Very cool. I don't think I've seen this thread before. I always try to find some way to coil up my wires so it looks clean. I'm a freak about keeping wiring tidy. I may have to get one of those someday.

I have used it on every rig I own.

I hate using zip ties to bundle excess wire.

You know, I just hate the look of it. The only zip ties I have on any of my rigs for that purpose is a couple on my T-Maxx and Lazer but it's only to keep the wires against the chassis, not to keep the wiring bundled. My wife's E-maxx has wiring bundled in those little twisty gizmos that Traxxas supplies but that's it for all ofmy rigs. I like to coil allof my stuff or at least route it in a matter that makes up for the length. This tool is a great thing to have in the box

This is right up my alley. Seems every rig I have has a 2-foot long battery wire that I have to coil into the battery box. And on my RS4 I have wiring for my Venom Speed Meter, too. It's damn near impossible to get it all to fit. Now to just find one....

It is way too funny this thread was brought back up. I was just talking with ImBroken the other day about this tool (no, not you Rolex, lol).

We were talking about our AX10s and how everything was so close and the wires on everything were so long, and I had remembered seeing a thread here that had this crimping tool in it for the servo connectors. I need to get one of these fo sho!

This tool was one of the best RC tool investments I have made.

It's comforting to see I'm not the only one going to extremes to keep wires tidy. Cleaning, wiring and well, everything RC - I'm pretty anal, bordering obsessive. :D

i just noticed this on here...y do you need a special tool to crimp your wires with? i just use wire cutters to cut it then strip it.

PS. this tool has been out for almost forever lol

Servo connectors are pretty small. It skill be very conveniant to install them easily with little fuss.
