Finally back together. I'll see what happens with the paint. It has a cloudy kind of marbled look to it. Seems to have adhered decently and I kind of like it. I'm going to have my wife cut some vinyls for it and have something of a plan for the interior starting with integrating the rear body mount into a roll bar so it doesn't have a post running up the middle and design a low profile screw down mount to replace the clips.

So much 3d printer love tonight. I needed to space the sliders up 8mm to tuck the body so quick drawing and 45 minutes of printing later I had my spacers.

Wanted to kill the light bleeding through the body finally so I backed all my lights with Nashua tape. No light bleed now.

New thing I've been doing with my workbench is butcher's paper. When I'm painting I wrap it up behind like that but normally I just cover the bench top. I take notes on it while I'm working and scribble drawings for ideas.

Really needed to get outside today and wanted to run the new body so I checked the river level was good and headed to my favorite spot. Only to find they had a microcell hit last night and down a bunch of trees so they were closed. So I came home and decided to goof around on the wood pile.

Some pics, the ones that are a little fuzzy are captures from video. I'm determined to learn Davinci so I'm editing some stuff.

Please excuse the wiring, it's all secured so it can't tangle or get pinched but it's a mess because I'm designing and interior so I'm planning how I want everything to run and be hidden.

Installed the Traxxas mirror and snorkel kit and light buckets. Not perfect but better than my last one. Just need a little more practice and patience. Still have some detail work to do. Door handle stickers are temporary until I print some. It's getting wipers and a couple other things as well.

Ok, it's time for a matching spare. :p 🤣 Everything is looking good, gonna be even better once you get the interior in it. :thumbs-up:

Thanks. I'm on a tight budget right now because we really need a vacation so I'm currently soaking some of the stock Traxxas wheels and tires to get the glue off. I did a quick remix on the rim design and made one with the lug nuts removed, Then I'm making a modified T bar to hide the 4mm stud and nut.

Nice I personally didn’t like the gas can side design in that pack you sent me but printed it up perfect size and took the size of that and made my own also when I get back from vacation I will be working on holders I test printed 2 for the small scale one was too big and one was perfect but the wall where to skinny

What I like about the design in that pack is they are accurate. I own these for my home and 1:1 truck.

Can holder on the bumper swingout, very thin and can't believe that is the first one I printed. It's been on 3 revisions of this bumper.

Have a plan for the rear interior. Need to get that designed up so I can figure out placement for the electronics like the receiver and light controller I need to move to off the lower floor. Originally I planned on building and interior cage system to take the place of the rear body mount but I've changed direction a little.

I've decided to integrate the false floor and body mounts then the body mounts will be hidden/reinforced by "equipment" like a tool box and cooler that will all be one piece to hide electronics inside but will look like packed equipment. I've already started looking at parts and have some selected. It will also have a "power panel" I plan on integrating one of these into.

Lastly I played with my fog machine a little last night.

Been busy with life stuff so haven't been working on much other than my diecast stuff because it's all low brain activity stuff.

Made some progress on the rear interior for the sport. Still a ways from done and I have not even started the front area since I need to get this laid out so I can move my RX and light controller back to clear up "floor space".

Looks awesome and thanks for the files

No worries, I intentionally left holes out of the rear bumper mounting points because they were creating a weak spot. I printed them solid and just slid the bumper into the position I wanted it and drilled it so it's just two holes instead of a string of holes, after changing that I haven't broken a rear bumper since.

I'm into that part of the project with this interior that I'm just constantly revising what I want. I decided to pivot to another project and shelve the interior for a week or so. Out of site and out of mind so I can come back to it with fresh eyes.

I took about 6 months off from RC working on other projects and am now jumping back in with a complete facelift on the TRX4

I got a bigger printer that will allow for printing bodies in one or two pieces instead of having to slice them into little parts.

First print of cab, modded bed, TPU fenders for test fitting.

I designed a canopy for the bed that is going to go on the printer tonight so hopefully this weekend I can get going on getting the body mounted.

I'm going to call this V1

This is the AheadRC Mighty FC body tweaked to my liking.

Rear bumper V1 in photos, 10% infill proofing print I will run until it breaks then put the 100% infill version I printed last night. The integrated LED reverse lights are friction fit so they can be swapped easily if a bumper breaks.

The fenders are modified and printed in TPU. It was my first time working with TPU it went pretty well. I learned a lot.

This whole project is trying new things for me so it's all rough but looks pretty cool crawling over logs.

Do you have plans for any push bars in the front?, While I like the low profile bumper, I think a little more protection up front wouldn't be a bad idea. Love where this is headed. 😍

It will depend on how it performs once I get it on some rocks. I really like the current approach angle, the little scrapes are from when I decided to put it up against the wall on our hardwood floor and it climbed the wall until the spare hit the ground which was at almost vertical.

EDIT: That was before I put the low pro skid/bumper on. I need to add a bevel to the front edge, pretty sure the current point would have gouged the wall badly.
