Thanks for that list, Eddy; it definately makes it easier to get parts, altho, I have a feeling HPI will be nice to those of us who own the older sav's for a while yet.

what is the differentce between the old and the new savage x spur gears if any??

so will the savage x spur gear work on an old savage? what about if you tried to instal the dual slipper setup?

The dual slipper will work on an older savage - 52t dual pad gears are a bit difficult to find tho.

As for the parts themselves; pretty much all the parts that sit on the top-shaft on the outside of the case would have to be replaced.

If you search ebay, you can find entire slipper-kits that come with a 49t spur.

what "extra" parts are needed to put the Savage X Chassis Plates onto a savage 21 as you put a * next to it.
Thanks, Tom

so your saying that you can't put any metal spur gear on a savage x?

the savage x ss comes with an soild steel spur gear.

i know so dose the savage x and its got a limted free offer of alloy diffes aswell

i bought the x ss. so it had most of the goodies on it already.

Steel Spur Gears

HPI has the 47T, 49T, & 52T Steel Spur Gears listed as an option part for the Savage-X on their website. For example (#86806 Steel Spur Gear Set 47T). Are these not compatible with the "X"?

Savage X F4.1

I recieved a email from HPI tech regarding the Heavy duty spur gear kit w/ the aluminum hub. When used with the Racing clutch bell it is fully compatible with all Savage trucks.

For example:
HPI #86806 Steel Spur Gear Set 47T & HPI #77103-77110 Racing Clutch Bells

Will ss shock towers fit savage x?

The old savage is 95 percent compatible with the savage x?A few mods were made so diffs were better to get to larger reciever box stronger transmission which will all bolt up to the older frame or say if you like the x fram i quess its all personal pref.along with gearing?more power taller gears?or maybe you should just get a weelie king

Knuckles

Can I purchase aluminum knuckles for a savage xl anywhere?

I broke 2 stock parts in 1 day??

Why would you want to run a 52 t spur when you can run a 47 - 49t spur gear. Integy make one of the lightest spur gears yet hard and strong. Same wear as a Robinson hardened gear and only cost about $15 with 2 slipper clutch discs.I run both single and double slipper clutch spur gears on my Savage X. Just remember, you can't use to stock clutchbell with a hardened spur gear, it won't last 2 tanks of fuel.
