Rick they both have there pros and cons in the strength department. I would say pick up a R\C mag and read up on the subject, both trucks are covered extensively in the major mags and then judge for yourself.

I have both, beat the hell out of both, and can honestly say my Savage holds up better.

I just havent hit a fence post with my Savage yet though.......

Savage is way stronger than the Tmaxx but the tmaxx is good to go strait out of the box its quicker faster and has reverse.

The .21bb engine is easy to tune and start the savage is quick enough but very loud. reverse is $35 option. Hyper 8 ports are $120 to add on l8r.

Despite this most who have both prefer their savage. Both are good for general bashing. You will go to the hobby shop less with a savage.
tmaxx about 1.1 hp -- savage despite claims about 1.8 hp
hyper 8 port 2.5 hp

I like the maxx but the savage is generally a better quality product all around.
