Hi I just wondered if anyone is able to confirm whether the engine sounds correct during the burn-in process? The temperature reached 220 Fahrenheit, Blue smoke was coming out of the exhaust, and there was a puddle of fuel on the floor. I also installed a new glow plug in (B6 cold) as the standard one wasn't for 25 percent nitro. Here's a video of it running if that helps

Thanks Neil.

Sorry but your question isn't clear. Can you try asking again in a different way? Your English is not easily understood.

Sorry I meant break in. I just wondered if my engine sounds correctly tuned for the break in of my new rc car? Thanks.

Not a nitro guy, but is the idle a tad high? I mean, my dad had a small engine repair shop. And he had a couple nitro airplanes for a time. To me the idle sounds a little high.

Sorry @neil4uk. You being new, links you post will need to be approved. That goes away after you post a bit here, so if you want, go check out some other threads, go introduce yourself in the introduce yourself forum, etc. Its just a way to keep the scammers at bay.

You came to the right place. Lots of helpful folks here. And welcome in 😉

You could be correct as I put a different glow plug in. I will lower the high speed needle a little and see if it sounds better. Thanks for your help.

This will help ya @neil4uk

Oh, and if you want your videos to play right in your post, you can use YouTube. Just upload the video there and paste the share link to it in your post here. The video will embed into your post. Like this.

I didn't have any difficulties watching your video...
It sounds great! The "fuel" puddle should be very oily/sticky/dense, if it is, then it's a very good sign. My engine sounded the same during break-in, they have to be rich.
Nothing wrong with the idle. Nitro engines always rev very high. Your engine should idle low enough for the clutch not to engage, and high enough not to shut down. (Although shutting down could be caused by a too rich/lean mixture)

Hi Neil! WELCOME TO RCTALK.COM!
My phone isn't letting me open your link but my buddy owns one of these trucks...
You're gonna love it once you get it broke in right! 😍😎
I can't wait :) I had to stop the break in for now as neighbours are old and it's extremely loud, I will have to take it to the park later. I will let you know what I think of it after. Take care

Its akways better to have too much fuel than not enough! Can't wait to hear whst you think!!!
Good luck!👍🏻😎

Yes if I put my finger under exhaust it is very oily instantly. I have now filled it up twice and next step is going to the park to slow walk it. I appreciate everyone's help. Thanks

after break in i would suggest to tip the teuck on its side so the exhaust tip is pointed straight down ... allow as much of that oil and residue to leave the pipe as possible....the more you can drain out of it the better ... as build up occurs it can cause a back pressure on the pipe which effects how it runs .... and also make sure it's fine tuned ever run ... even a 10 degree change between runs outside can make a diffrence in the tune and the way it runs

Sounds good to me. Sounds like it's running a bit rich, which it should be during break in.

My fault, I did not see any video link in your post originally. I'm used to seeing YouTube links instead of hyperlinks.:)
