Anyone around this area know of a really close area to go or that want to join my friends? There are about 4 of us. We are always looking for new areas and tracks (if we can find any). We run mainly 8th scale, there is one Revo, 2 8T's (soon to be 3 I think), LST2, Inferno and a Muggy. We just go out to have fun, no serious stuff yet. But we really need a nice place to go.

For off-road racing there is Norcal Hobbies in Union City and Delta RC in Antioch. Delta has a very nice covered race track in the winter. I haven't seen Norcal first hand but I've heard that it is very nice.

For bashing you can run at Mission College in Santa Clara. The parking lots are usually wide open and there is a dirt field behind the Mercado Shopping Center. They are very RC friendly. On the weekends you can sometimes catch 1/8 and 1/5 scale on road racing and occasionally they run 1/8 scale motorcycles.

Update: Just spoke to one of my buddies that races at Norcal and they do not run 1/8 scale or 1/10 monster truck. They run 1/10 4wd and 2WD buggy, 1/10 ST (gas and electric), CRT .5, and 1/18 scale mini.

Sweet! Thanks!

You would think they would make an RC track(s) at Metcalf. That is a OHV park here in San Jose/Morgan Hill area. I will have to check it out.

At one point in time RCUnlimited had a track in Morgan Hill at Andy's house (owner of RCU). I haven't spoken to Andy in a long time, next time you're in the area you should ask him about it.

I forgot to mention there is also Bayside in Fremont. The membership fee is $150 a year for the AMA dues since it's situated on a flying field.

Which part of San Jose are you from?

I am in south san jose. I know about Andy's track. He gave us directions there a couple of weeks ago to check it out, but it has not been raced on in a long while. There are weeds growing in the middle of the track and it is pretty wasted, but with some work I sure it would be cool.

Bayside huh? Is there a track there, or just a big open field. If it is a big open field would they mind if we made jumps?

Its a track, but BART owns the property so you have to be an AMA member. I'm in Pleasanton and I go up to antioch a couple times a month. I love that place. They are starting the winter point series on December 8th. http://www.deltarc.com

Sounds cool up there, but it is a pretty good drive from here to Antioch. I would guess at least 1.5 hours one way. I know that does not seem like much but when you have a wife and 4 kids it is hard to get away for that long. So I doubt I will be going up there any time soon. I was hoping of getting a track down here somewhere started if there is not one. That is why I mention Metcalf. Does any one know what it might take to start a track at a OHV park? I will go down there Monday and check with the county and find out.
