Well I picked them up yesterday. $11each. pulling mine off today.

I got the white dyeable ones because thats all they had in a full set. I dont want to use any of the colors I seen to dye em.

What Id like to know if How well would the Lexan body paint hold up? The blue metalic pearl for the base coat. and Then the blue pearl clear. I'm doing a body in the same colors. The clear blue pearl flames. and the blue as the main color.

I figure the arms painted to match may look cool. Body paint is made for lexan to flex etc. So I figure it should be on on a-arms etc? Anybody try this befor? Thoughts, Sugestions, coments welcome...

This is a little "outside the box" thinking. I'm not too sure that the lexan paint would stick very well to the nylon. I could be wrong. At 11.00, you could just give it a shot and see how well it holds up. I would think that if it did stick, it would come off after a few good runs, but again what the hell do i know?

The nylon is a pourus material. I would try to find a dye more than a paint. If you are going to use a paint, make sure it will be able to adhere well to a pourus and yet possibly an oil impregnated surface. Maybe an acrylic paint would do well. I dont know. I'm just thinking out lout.

Hell, for all I know, a water based paint may work better.

most likely not, just car bumpers u gota a bonding agent to the paint to make it stick good..

Those look cool.

As for die, you can use just about anything imaginable to color nylon, I've even used packets of Kool Aid.:hehe:

I think you would have stood a better chance of those lasting is you used a laquer based primer and the RC50-RCXX Pactra racing finishes.

Good luck. Wanna coat some graphite?

The Paint certainly looks like it stuck to the nylon nicely. Please post pics after your first bash with the painted RPM stuff. I definitely want to see how they hold up.

sLY

I have painted nylon before but it has been such a long time I don't remember what paint I used. I can tell you mine didn't last too long it started to flake really bad. Good luck w/ yours, they look awesome.
