The "red sensor" light on my OptiDrive keeps coming on when running my Revo, which in turn automatically closes the throttle and applies the brakes.

Tx and RX have fresh charges/bateries and the antenna is fine. It happens when it is 5 feet away and it happens when it is 100 feet away, there does'nt seem to be a pattern.

I have taken all the electronics out to make sure all connections are good. Has anyone ever had this issue?

Thanks

in the manual it will tell you exactly what all the lights and buttons do for the optidrive. if you dont have one you can look it up on the traxxas website.

but if i remember correctly red is bad, so its probably a bad opti drive sensor, or the module.

but as others previously said, a Forward Only Conversion (FOC) is the best solution for your problem(s)

+3 (or 4?) on ditching the Opti-Crap! You don't NEED a FOC if you ditch it, just be very careful about going into reverse. Come to a COMPLETE stop and hold the brakes then switch into reverse. All the Opti-Drive really does is keep you from switching into reverse while in motion...

Does anyone have the specific wiring changes that I need to make in removing the OptiDrive? I am sure I could figure it out, but I dont want to fry anything.

Thanks

All you need do is unplug the Opti-Drive from the receiver then unplug the throttle servo from the Opti-Drive. Plug the servo into the slot in the receiver where you removed the Opti-Drive plug and you are done!

It is as easy as RC Addict noted above and should be taken out! I've taken mine out as well and was one of the best things I've done on my revo. Yank it! Enough said.

I have seen a few other posts about this thing, it is clear that the OptiDrive is a POS.

Thanks

mine still worked but then it jus didnt switch to reverse so i just got a foc

+5 or 6 on the f.oc. lighter, faster and easier to work on and less that can go wrong bro. and it is only lik $12.00 and if you are not running 2.4ghz system be sure to pick up a fail safe. i been down that road:hehe:

Hi I'm new to the nitro world just bought a revo 3.3, can anyone tell me if it already comes with the opti drive and does this thing only work if i fit in the reverse kit??

Thanks

revo 3.3

yea i have the same problem with my revo does anyone know how to fix it?

Bypass the optidrive worked for me. If you have a 2.4ghz system, it has low voltage failsafe, so you really don't lose anything. Just make sure to apply the brake when shifting to make sure you aren't moving

mine is doing something a little different

I just put a new primary shaft in mine and when input it back together it was working fine until I noticed it starting to go to some sort of neutral gear. And it never had done that before.
