I have a revo 2.5, which i've had for a few years now & at the mo it's got the TRX3.3 engine with the Traxxas resonator pipe which i installed when the original TRX2.5 died.

Now the TRX3.3 is coming to the end of it's life & i'd like a mill with a bit more power.

My bro has a Picco .26 in his Revo 3.3 & i like the power that it produces for the money, but i'd like any advice for a drop in engine for my Revo 2.5.

I dont race, only bash around at various BMX/MX tracks etc, but i would like to be able to beat my bro's truck!

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think the red dot version is available in the UK as yet & it takes a long time for shipping from the US.

If i get it shipped in & have any problems then i have to send it all the way back to the US.

Also i heard that the red dot is a bit finickity to tune & doesn't give a great deal more power?

I'm in the same situation. My 2.5r needs a rebuild and id like something with abit more power, I'm just not sure how much more power. Anyone steer me in the right direction?

Things I'm looking towards OS 18, OS 21, picco 26 JL red dot, picco 28. Obviously the piccos have more torque and are quite abit cheaper but I'm not sure which would be best. Pure bashing atm but would like to get into abit of racing.

The Picco .26max has some really awesome torque, so i imagine you can eat him up with a .28. Just my :2cents:

I want a drop in engine though, I don't want the aggro of a BB installation.

What about the RB TM523, i've heard that's a good motor?

its what i have..:D man screams like hell..packs a punch for a mid size engine..
the pipe that come with it is loud..:whhooo: its a great engine..but its up to you on what you want..:)

but as you said you dont want to mess with BB kit so the RB is perfect for your needs..:D everything you need is there when you buy it just drop in..:)

How does it compare to the Picco .26 max?

picco will pack bit more.. but having a bigger engine can/will be hard on your gears..you could eat gears up and your going to end up upgrading gears..but you can adjust the slipper clutch so that the gears wont have too much stress on them..

but I'm sure stock gears will handle a picco just depends on how you run it/adjust it..

the RB engine is perfect for a mid power without hurting the gears..

I think i'm leaning towards the Picco, would it be ok on the standard clutch bell & spur gear or would it need gearing up a bit? Anyone know a good CB & spur combo?

revo motor

the RB has heaps of power and will drop straight in ur revo
