I'm wanting to order the reverse kit for my new T-maxx but I have recently heard here and read in some other places that the reverse causes things to break and is not a good idea. Other people from other places swear up and down they love the add on.I just run my truck in open fields and around the neighborhood, I don't ever plan on racing this vehicle, I just Got a new buggy also that I will race with. I would really like to have reverse but I do not want to worry about breaking and replacing parts all the time. Any in-put is greatly appreciated.

Shouldn't be any trouble at all. Just follow the directions to make sure you get it working 100%. If you get a big motor it might not be a good idea.

The debate now has me thinking about sending the T-maxx that is supposed to be here Friday back to Tower and just paying the 90 dollar difference for the revo. Espicially since Tower has some really good deals for the holidays, that would put the Revo RTR, kit with a gallon of fuel, HPI temp gun, and batteries right at 570. I am really leaning towards returning the T-maxx and getting the revo, the more and more I think about it.

I put the reverse in my t-maxx 4907 and i didnt like the servo it came with it it couldnt shift it well because it had no tourqe so what i did was i cut out the metal next to the steering servo so i could use a traxxas 2056 high tourqe waterproof servo and now it shifts in and out of reverse perfect. I dont race my maxx and i allways come to a complete stop befor shifting and i like it alot i would say go for it.
