Restored an old Ofna Hyper 7 Pro to running condition then broke the conrod! What next? Brushless!

Yeah, I may eventually get a radiolink rc 4 or 6. The current one is old, but works well and is full featured. Only the Ng I have noticed is some newer ones have gyros built in which could be cool.

Great job. I have an old Ofna buggy that is 1/2 way to being converted, you've given me some inspiration to work on it.

It was a lot of fun building it then experiencing brushless power!

What size LiPo were you running it on? That thing would be stupid on 6S lol Good work!

Great Conversion!

OFNA was a distributor, I believe the OEM for Hyper is HoBao and you can still get parts here:
https://www.hobao-usa.com/product-category/rcparts/hyper-7-tq-nitro-buggy/

Part of the reason OFNA went out of business was because HoBao decided to be their own distributor in the US as they wanted to make more of their designs available in the US market.

OFNA had also distributed for HongNor, ActiveHobby, ABC, Nanda, Schumacher and probably a dozen other brands, but the final straw was when HPI went bankrupt and OFNA ran out of inventory and had decided to retire by selling their building for a huge profit than to mess around with finding another brand to distribute:

Very interesting on the history! Ofna was not that great to deal with in my experience back in the day.

Part of the reason that I went for the conversion was finding that the hyper 7 is actually still made and largely the same (however many components are cheaper versions than what they used to be since it's a more budget basher than racer now).
