Currently looking for an engine upgrade. Looking at O.S .15 CV-RX , Epic Big Bore .18 and Team Orion .18. If I upgrade to a bigger displacment will the increase in torqe and power rip apart my stock tranny. Only mod is RR gears.

Don't worry about the tranny. It's all metal. It can handle the torque. The question is...can you?

When you get your engine, see if it comes in short shaft. Like the OS .15 CV-RX(S). That will make installation easier. If you get a regular length shaft you'll have to cut it.

IMO,
I have no Idea why you would need so much torque in a GT.
I would be looking at engines that have a higher RPM.

The answer is going to be different depending on what you want to do with it.

I would look at the mugen mt.12 or the os tr.12 maybe the fantom .12

I don't know why dudes want to cram all the torque they can in the GT. I have a hard time getting around the track with an OS tr.12

I would get a Fantom .03 series... They can boost ur truck up to about 1.2 hp and make it scream to about..... ehhh high 40's. I was reading on there site.. www.fantomracing.com and reading the storys and the older engines made the tmaxx go to 55 mph. So imagine what it could do you to your lighter car. Later

Very good selection I just recently broke in the OS .12 CV engine in my RC10GT and the engine flat out hauls on the straights I barely touch the throttle and go flying down the straights.

Oh yeah and in my first night of racing at my local track I placed 3rd in sportsman nitro (which had 4 expert/pro nitro drivers in the class) so basically the engine has more than enough power to hang with the big boys.
