My good friend Easy tells me there was a thread on here some time back about a little mod to make the transmitter 'plug in rechargeable'.

I've got stock trax transmitter with 8 AA 1300 nimh's in. How can I adapt it so's I can plug a lead from the transmitter into my charger to charge the 8 batteries without having to remove them?

Any ideas any links please.

there sure was in the early days of the forum.
one of the guys did this mod and we told him to sell them on e-bay , i`m sure NcNitro was one of the guys who posted in the thread and others too , sorry i cannot find it now.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it was posted by Darth Racer. And it was for a digital voltmeter mod. Didn't hear much more about it. I would think that converting the Tx to a charging jack would just be a matter of soldering the appropriate connecter to the positive and negative ends of the battery tray and then mounting the jack in the Tx case somewhere.

You should just get a JR radio and put rechargable batteries in it. Atleast thats what i did.

The Lynx 3D by HiTec comes with a rechargeable transmitter cell. It is both a nice radio and a convenient feature. The option exists to run dry cells if you choose or the rechargeable cell runs low.

Your radio should have come with one (at least mine did). My recommendation would be to get a hold of HiTec and ask them that same question. They might send you one just because.

Here's their page for the radio. Notice the bottom right corner lists part numbers for dry cell tray and NiCd trays. Hope that helps.
