Okay - So I just got my new factory team up and running. I have a problem with something slipping.

When I give it gas, I can here the engine wind out, but the truck hardly moves, this must be attributed to a slipping clutch I would think - namely the slipper clutch. Well, even with the slipper clutch tightened all the way down, the drivetrain is still slipping somewhere. It could be in the centrifugal clutch also, but its brand new.

My question is - the diff was rebuilt with an RPM version - this can't cause slippage - can it? it doesn't sound like its slipping there, and by looking at the spur gear - it seems to me that the slipping is happening before that part, which makes me want to think that its the cent. clutch slipping.

Just want to hear your ideas before I pull the mill and take apart the clutch again. Ideas?

OK, first off, you said when you give it gas, the engine winds but the truck don't move. First, do it with the body off. Give it some gas and see if the spur/pinion is moving. If it isn't, then it's the clutch. If it is, it's either the slipper or diff. I know this is a stupid question, but is the spur screwed to the slipper plate? Also make sure the slipper pads are seated right and then crank it down. To check it, hold both rear wheels and then try to turn the spur with your thumb. It's like a magic trick, but ya gotta try it. If the spur spins, watch the slipper nut. If it's turning, then the diff is loose. If it's not turning, the slipper is too loose and may need rebuild.

That should get you started..

Thanks candyman - i will try those ideas out when i get home.

Okay - I am an idiot. I get home and try the tips i got about the diff. But its as tight as can be. Start the car up and test it out. same problem. So i sit there and look at it for a minute. Ah-ha! I am a dumbass. the carb was only opening about 20% at WOT. found out the servo horn was stripped, and the servo gears were just moving inside the horn. So i but on a new servo horn, and ta-da! I now have one mean rc10gt - man this thing flies!

dude - i can barely keep the front end down - thing is a rocket. I put on alot of aluminum and titanium add ons. Man the thing is indestructable. We were launching it off our skate ramp. thing can take some abuse man!

I'm honestly thinking about picking up and alum suspension set for the xxx-nt just to see it perform like a magnet on a fridge with the extra weight. RC-Trix and Tier1 are producing complete kits today for a reasonable dollar.

What mill is in there?

I have the .15 CVR in my Losi and man its sooooo much power!

christian - right now - I am using my Rossi .12 Pixie with a custom header for the rear exhaust. Too fast though - and i just agreed on a price to sell it to my neighbor. I just bought an OS .12 cv-r for my NTC3 - and have an OPS.15 that i will most likely put into the GT.

I have a set of aluminium shock towers for the GT on right now, but also have the carbon factory team ones. i can't feel too much weight difference. installed the 3mm HCR titanium chassis - aluminium front skid plate - Ti tunrbuckles from AE - Ti cvd's - and Ti tranny and diff gears. also have the RPM radio box.

Amazingly the thing fits sideways on my starter box perfectly without having to adjust the dougnut from its NTC3 position.

Well how about that? Didn't even think of that myself. Just took it for granted that the easy part was taken care of already!!! LOL. Good to see you got it going. The thing's a handful when it's running right, isn't it? Try driving a stock T-Maxx for a while then unleashing that beast. Man I love my GT....
