So in the summer I am thinking about getting a few more ramps and set them up in the baseball diamond near my house for a little track. Ill use my B74.1, rustler and slash on the track. I will invite my uncle over if he wants to join with his xray xb4. This is the current ramp I have. Got it from amazon and it is 7 inches off the ground. It is straight up tho. I do want to find something that has a little more to a curve to it. I will probably look at amazon when I get home and ebay. I know RCDriver made a video on these portable bash ramps but I don't know if they are still available. Also for the little track I do have little cones so I can use those aswell. It's not going to be a professional track with the lap count system (I don't wanna spend the money. Also I am using a public place so after I am done I would have to wrap up the jumps and all. My uncle used to have ramps. Not sure if he still has them but I will see.

There is this one brand called FreshPark and they have a giant ramp for 250 dollars which I don't need. It is more of a dirt bike ramp but I watch a youtuber that uses that ramp for his xmaxx and all other large scale cars.

Or might even make my own ramps? Might be better to do so.

Sounds like fun and sounds like a plan, David. Betting your uncle can't pass up an offer like that.

Built my own modest ramps for the backyard MT course. But, as you noted, they are straight without curve. However, they are cheap and easy to build. Also cut lengths of 4in RV piping in half lengthwise to form rumbles.

Here is a LandWave link. Did not price them out, but kinda interesting. The animation is a hoot. Anxious to see what you come up with.

Edit, oops forgot the link. Here is is: LandWave

Cheers. 'AC'

I guess straight ramp is ok. I would just like curved so in the future if I get a arrma outcast or a stunt truck I can do back flips easily. My old LHS had a rubbery type of thing with bumps in it. Similar to the 4in piping you have. That might be a good idea to slow down the cars. Also if I do create my own ramps, should I do plain wood or should I cover it with astro turf? I think covering the jump with astro turf would be better to get more traction.
On the last time me and my uncle were at the track which was back in September. He told me he was slower (last time he raced before this was back in 2018) He was running constant 17-20 second laps. I was slower because at the time I still had the brushed system in the mini b I believe. I think the track record for that layout was about 11 or 12 seconds. Also I am going to see if he has an extra transponder. He had a short course truck which he sold but I am not sure if he kept the transponder. Transponders are expensive as always.

The problem with the straight ramps is your RC slams into it and bottoms out the suspension. The curved ramps are more forgiving, and of course allow for better backflips.

Yea. That is why I am trying to find a curved ramp. When my uncle was working at my old LHS he built some of the ramps there on the track. Planning to get wood, pvc pipe and astro turf cause I am thinking building my own might be better. Also will get something like @ahr43 tubing to slow down.
These are some of the ramps he built.
Might even get cardboard too because that is what it looks like on top of the wood.
I don't want the ramps wide like the ones in the pics because those ramps take up the width of the whole lane. I just want a smaller one like the ones in the second pic.
