Hi all, recently joined and after just seeing my young son plough his Acme Condor buggy into a kerb and smash the front end (no tears yet...until i see a repair costing), i was wondering about upgrades. When looking for parts, are all 1/10 parts generic, meaning can i buy any (e.g.) bulk head, suspension or shocks etc or do i have to buy the exact same make, model? Thanks.
Mick

They pretty much have to be the exact model but some parts may work. However, RPM has some model upgrades which are highly recommended.
I will say, stay away from aluminum A-arms though. They bend on a hard hit and don't recover. Plastic usually does.
I'm not familiar with the ACNE Condor but I'm guessing it may be difficult finding parts unfortunately.

Thanks for the info, but what/who is RPM and what are A arms (i'm guessing upper/lower suspension?)😄 very newbie here and as i said...I'm a dabbler 🤣

RPM in this context is a brand, they make aftermarket parts. You're right about the A-arms, they're named for the literal "A" shape they have.

You're going to want to use the exploded views and part numbers to figure out what you need to replace and how it goes together.

Yes they are the upper and lower suspension and are shaped like the capital letter A.
RPMs is a company on the web that sell top of the line plastics. I would check them out.
I highly doubt they would have that model though.

The Acme Condor shares a lot of parts with the HSP 94166, Redcat Racing Tornado S30, and Exceed RC Forza and Rally Monster cars, so, parts should be somewhat easy to find. The first thing i would do is go through the manual, especially the exploded views, and familiarize yourself with how everything comes apart and goes back together.

There ya go, I stand corrected.
Its easy to be lost with the HSP rebrands. I have a text file on my desktop that shows all the HSP based cars made, and I'm still adding to it. Some of the ones off the top of my head are, HSP, Redcat Racing, Exceed RC, Maverick (although everything on them is backwards), Acme and some FTX cars.

Thanks everyone for the input, much appreciated, i already know which parts need replacing, my query is more related to getting upgraded parts which actually fit, that's why i asked if parts were generic. Don't want to waste more cash buying parts only to find they are 1mm too big/small. The parts needed are front upper and lower A arms, front left and right bulkheads and front shocks.
Cheers
Mick

Thanks, I tried looking those cars up , but they came up as different sized rc cars (1/5, 1/16 etc, not the 1/10). So, not sure if the parts I'm after would fit.

Every one i listed is 1/10Th scale.

Exceed RC Forza https://www.nitrorcx.com/51c812-firered-24ghz.html

Exceed RC Rally Monster https://www.nitrorcx.com/51c819-stripeblue-24ghz.html

I stand corrected on these. Your car is actually based off the Acme/Turnigy Trooper, which doesn't share any parts with the HSP based cars at all. The only options you may have for upgrade parts are from Hobby King: https://hobbyking.com/ and possibly Integy: https://www.integy.com/

Thanks for the info, I think the 'error' might have occurred due to me being in the UK, search engine might hold differing info.
