alrighty guys, i have decided to go with the RB Rody C5 for my JT hybrid maxx project. i was wondering where is the cheapest place to find it, also any info on the engine pretaining break-in, and after break in would be great. also so tips and tricks with this engine.

man this is goign to be the best thing i have dont to my maxx lately!!!!

bryan

I had that engine long enough to break it in and drive it a short time. Sold the vehicle it was in very fast, which is a shame because it was nice.

Some things i am curious about:

1. How do you plan on starting the engine? No pullstart can be attached, and i can't see how a starter box would work on the maxx?
2. How much work have you done to the internal drive system? This engine produces more power than almost any other .21 on the planet and will destroy any drivetrain that isnt up to pro specs.
3. Break in can be done according the standard RB break in proceedure listed in your instructions or with a break in stand such as the one made by HUDY. The break in stand method is the one recommended by Rody Roem, but isnt manditory for top performance.
4. I purchased my RODY TEAM C5 at my LHS, but the cheapest place online that is reputiable is ashfordhobby. They sell it for about 570.00 - you can get the standard rody for about 490.00, but spend the extra few bucks and get the best.

sounds kool thankz, answers to ur questions

1. i am going to get the JT hybrid chassis, which alows u to use the starter box for the maxx. that is why i am going to get the hybrid chassis

2. i have dont alot of work to my drivetrain. cvd's all around, diffs are kippster and rrp gears, and the tranny i am working on right now.

now i know that this things arent cheap, so i am going to look at ebay and see what they got, i am not going to buy one used, just because i dont know what the owner before has done with the engine. but if i find a good cheap price on ebay i will get it there, but if not i will go to the site that u gave me

thankz

I wouldnt expect to find one NIB on ebay. These things are pretty rare. Also, for the most part, RB Products trys to keep all the prices set for RB Concepts engines. You will notice that most places will all sell them for the same price right down to the penny.

ya that is what i have been noticing, the only RB engines i see on ebay are the ws7, and the s7.

and yes, almost everywhere i have seen lately sell them almost all the same prices

i think UE has prices for pull start modded RB's that are unasembled on there websight...you jsut haveto assemble them yourslef and they will have no warenty.

wait a min though for supermaxx it wont matter i read past the part he said hes running a JT chassis...cool project keep us updated.

thankz guys, yes i am goign to run the jt hybrid so i will be using a starter box so that i dont have to spend that extra $100 or so on the pullstart mod
