Okay, I've had it with this damn RZ(VO1B). Thing does the same thing as all my other OS engines. Runs great, but not perfect. Starts with some effort, but not effortlessly. Seems all the OS engines I've used were good, but not the best. Now this whole carb thing is driving me nutz.

Went to the MAXI CHALLENGE buggy regionals here in Orlando this weekend, and every other engine there was an RB. So, since my experience with the V12 has been so amazing, i have decided to go with an RB in the EB4-S2 also.

Which engine do you think would be better suited for racing/bashing? From what i gather, the C5 is a fster engine on the top end, but lacks a little on the low end, while the WS7 II is not as good of an engine, but has tons of low end grunt. Everyone i talk to says get the C5 for fast tracks, get the WS7 II for technical tracks. Is this info correct?

Since i run only at a HUGE buggy track and bash in large areas, i thought that the C5 would be a better bet. Any suggestions?

What you've said about the C5 is spot on with everything else I've read. I can't really verify or discredit the bottom end on the WS7II.

From reading the RB forums, I think good bottom end from a WS7II is possible, but you need to keep the following in mind:

1) You should run the appropriate RB pipe for the best performance. The header also has something to do with this.

2) The richer you tune the LSN on the WS7II, the more bottom end performace you'll get out of the engine. This is backward from most engines and a lot of people run into that snag.

3) Use mugen 1.1 (stiff) clitch springs and lighten the ends of your clutch to allow the engine to get higher RPMs before the clutch engauges.

Bottom end from RB engines is a question that comes up on the RB forums over and over. If you head over there, you can get gobbs of info on the subject.

Good Luck picking an engine, I'm in the same boat... :\

Rob - regarding the bottom end power of the C5, u keep saying the WS7 II. Is this a typo, or am i wrong? I live at the RB Concepts forum, so yes, i have read all there is there.

I'm sorry, I read the "huge bottom end" on the WS7II and my mind kind of wandered.

If I would have read the last sentance of your post... yeah a C5 should be awsome on a huge track. The best source of information would be from the people that race on the track. Ask 'em what they run.

Hey NA, flyingrazorback is selling his C5. You might want to check it out.

Thanks dave - but i have now had 2 seperate bad experiences with used engines. I am now only buying new.

ya i know i just saw that, got a quick question for u guys, i know that i should make a new thread but here it is. can u use a roto start on any RB engines? i was wondering cause the conversion for the pull starter is like $100 plus the engine. that is a little high for me. also is there any way u can get a startbox to work with a supermaxx.(i am 99.9% sure that u can't).
