was wondering what the best temp for this engine mounted on a xxxnt is? I've been running a steady 220º give or take a few º's... I'm not too great on adjusting engines in general i usually get help @ the track....but no one has a real temp...they vary by 10º's what is optimal running temp? (i have a 10e carb from o.s. on it)... heres a shot

220 sounds good, but for small blocks, that is a little low. Dont adjust your engine purely by temp. The temp is there for a guideline to make sure you are in the proper range. Small blocks usually run hotter, like 230-250. How is the performance? Smoke?

yea nice puff of blueish smoke.....the rb is awesome..nice punch and plenty of top end WFO MAN!!

also..can any one tell me the best cleaning product/solution? for general maintenance? like a replacement for nitro/motor spray. i question the long term effect of those products. i was told a 75% water/ 25% de-greaser works...are there any other mixtures or products that are recommended?

i also want to clean the black plastic pieces that are stained with clay/nitro/oil...is soaking them over night in a mild degreaser is one option?

i have been using thunderblast. i get it at the dollar store. works really well. just eats through all the mud and other grime
