got a used savage of the bay, chap sounded ok, asked all the questions etc...

took it out today, after attemting to tune etc... wouldn't change in 2 second, just sounded like the engine/exhaust was spitting, then would bog down and die,

takes off really well, but everything after that is real bad!!!

iy has axial .32 in it, my .21 buggy was thrashing it every which way,

something isn't right, any suggestions at all of what could be wrong, tranny, slipper, my tuning?

also are metal spur gears ok, or would you just ude a plastic one?

If it is taking off well, but then bogs and spits fuel, it sounds to me like your hsn is too rich. Try turning the hsn clockwise in tiny increments to lean the mixture, run it, see if it gets better, if it does, turn it a little more, then run it some more, see how it is. Keep doing that till it runs good, and has a good stream of smoke coming out the exhaust. If you don't already have one I strongly suggest you pick up a temp gun, this is the single best tool you can have when tuning an engine, well that and a screwdriver, lol.

Well, that explains your running issues. That sucks, sorry to see you got stuck with a mess like that.

thats ok dude, got it off ebay but the chap said it was all good and rtr, so put in a claim against him, so hopefully he will be paying for the approx. $100 (£76 where I am lol) of repairs,

however there is some good that has come out of it, I have now stripped my 1st engine, (however carb is real tight even loosening the screw, so any ideas on this one would be good)

And also know it will run sweet when i've finished the rebuild
