i was woundering if anyone has yet to try to make there car into a lowrider. Using Pnumatics or Hydrolics (spelling). I thought it would be an awsome thing to see. :redbuggy:

No really on a MT it would not make sense would it? Some of the onroad /w the truck bodys look really nice and would probably look nice but doing it to a MT would be a waste of money IMHO

I've seen a few of them. They are using Robat retract systems form RC planes. I did a set of Gold plated spinners and rims for a guy, and he said he was doing a lowrider T-maxx. I'll ask him if he can send me pictures.

that would be awsome thanks see if you can get pitchers of the inside i want to see how he set up the sytem

Well, my question for a pneumatic or hydrolic suspension is, where would you find an aircompressor or hydrolic pump and reserve tank that small? Second, an air pump is run from some sort of electricity source and hydrolic is mechanical (unless something can be rigged to run electrically). Seems a little far fetched but as in any hobby, it probably can be done but a lot of tinkering and mockups will definitely be involved. If you're up to the challenge, good luck!

Robart pneumatic retracts for airplanes. the tank is about the size of a small butane refill canister. They're not cheap, but towers has them (or used to at least). I think they'd work, but might be a pain to port over to cars.

I thought the ones for theplanes were gear driven. I was thinking more along the lines of the ones made for the 1:1 cars. You learn something new on this forum everyday.

Didnt someone do this on this fourm? Someone with a twin engine HPI RS4 MT? I can't find the thread, but maybe someone else remembers it?

Yeah I even made one of those, it is just your basic model you cement togeather and then you can addon the hydraulics to it.

The hydraulics shop down the street which does 1:1 hydraulics and the guy who works there is really good at doing it so I will see if maybe he has any ideas as I think a MT would be too heavy to use the model ones.

There should be a way to do it. I was thinking maybe using shocks as the rams and running some kind of little pump for the actuall hydraulic pump. Run your lines from the little pump to the fitting you screw into the shocks. I miss my juice but man it was sure messy, especially when a ram seal or dump seal busted. I think that would be cool to come up with something for an on road car, not a monster truck.

well realy it wold be like a show car. Kinda just for looks and fun. if you have many cars and you have one you don't get much out of it. then put the hydrolics (spelling) or Pnumatics (spelling) on just use it to fool arounded with.

Yeah, I posted that. He wants to do a car with hydraulics BTW :P

i would like hydrolics (spelling) but using air would be alot easier. you don't need to conect a pump to the engine some how.

i would like to see a lay out of how you desigen the system. if possible.
