@Littlemotor showed us a harbor freight gravity fed paint gun, and I actually have one so I was just going to give it a shot. I have some lexan sheet I may spray as a trial run. I have the ingredients to make a home brew thinner courtesy of a guide @WickedFog posted about airbrushing.
So, yes, I am going to airbrush this one. Usually I rattle can them.

Btw-as far as the harbor freight HVLP “Jamb Gun” I was recommending; it’s used for laying down the liquid mask only… I see you’ve got a “detail gun”.. I have no clue what the needle/nozzle setup is in that one, but Hell-if it shoots-it ships! Send it homie! Good luck!

Laquer and acrylic don't play well together sometimes. The paint can bleed after eating through the acrilic. Enamel is even worse. It will wrinkle and peel off. I'd just back it with that charcoal.

That paint gun Littlemotor was referring to is what he was going to buy to spray liquid mask I believe. I had a conversation with Littlemotor earlier today and he was saying Iwata has an entry level airbrush for around $80. If I had it to do over again, I would start with that aurbrush. I bought two Master brand airbrushes off Amazon, and while they aren't bad, I am sure the Iwata is a lot better.

Funny, I was thinking about where I have seen bright colors like that around my home and then it all clicked...
If I was blasting this around my backyard and took a wrong left, I could get this truck lost "between two ferns" until fall when everything turned brown again!
This truck is gonna look cool running around a track!
