Pin tires vs foams on carpet

Just wondering if foams are better than pin style tires and if there is a difference between the 2 with traction and around the corners? - Mostly on carpet but can be for other tracks like astro turf and on the street for speed runs.
 
reinforced foam or rubber for high s[eed. for carpet a mini pin or pins but astro most need a larger pin spike tire.foams on carpet work but most tracks dont like traction compounds
 
I can assure you that the turf track in my area is not suitable for foam or any slick tire, it requires a pin tire where the harder the compound the better the grip as the pins will get more bite with less flex to act more like velcro
