Radio control Car Action Mag has a book on painting called Painting and Detailing RC body's.

Most LHS sell it. I believe it has some tips on lightning.

This month's RC extreme mag has some tips on masking and painting as well.

Nah ... as much as I hate to say it, the book has some decent stuff in it but it isnt worth the $21.00 I paid for it. Nothing on lightening, not much on flames. Some good detailing and masking tips and some extremely minor airbrush techniques. Some websites on the subject dwarf this book. If you have a ClodBuster and you need to paint one of those ABS plastic bodies for it, this book actually has a section on painting ABS plastic.

PS: If you can paint a fade, know that you should paint dark colors first when possible, and understand what paitn mask is, then you are already beyond the scope of this book.
