WOW when I thought I had this motor down it F***s me again. I'm on my 4 break in tank today, heat cycleing this bad boy haveing fun just crusing around, checking the temps reguarly runing about 200. So I just got done leting it cool off to about 100 and fire it up again. I start driving down the street then it goes pop. I'm like what the hell must have blown a plug. So I go get it and its a hell of alot more serious then a glo plug. The motor is like seized but the fly wheel spins freely. Now I'm stumped. I puled the motor and broke it down. I found that where the piston meets the exauhst on the down stroke is geting caught. Its all chiped up at least it looks like it. The dents are on the side oppsite of the one thats rounded off. Id take a pic but camera is MIA. The sleve looks fine. I'm stumped and can't belive this crap and the luck I have. Anyone know what could have happend?

Did you do anything other than take the backplate off to seal it? Sounds like you put the backplate on improperly, they are usually cut out for clearance of the piston skirt

All I did is seal it up. I spun the back plate till it clicked and droped in with out effort. I just can't figuar out what the heck went on. It was doing good then this happen. Ill see if I can get a pic, found my camera but dont know how clear it will be.

It sounds like the piston was in backwards. One side of the piston typically has a big U shape, this is the side that should be facing the carb. the other side has a full skirt.

THats the way it was I never took it apart befor today, just sealed the back plate. I'm going to call OS tomarrow and tower and see if I can return it. My hobby shop has the picco maxx for the same price as this sucker right now and if thats the case ill just go for the picco to help me keep up with the truggys. But I still wish this wouldnt have happen I had high expectations on this motor and now its like done. Its not bad but you can really feel it if you rub your finger across the bottom of the piston. Wonder how towers retur policy is though?

Hate to say it bro, but there's a good chance they'll tell you you're shot out of luck. Once the motor is fired up and running, the "warranty" goes by the boards. Because of this, the two OS's I have are probably going to be the last.

Man that blows I just contacted Os or tower or who ever it was and they said all they could do is replace the piston and sleve for free, but I have to pay for shipping. This really pisses me off. There goes raceing this weekend, that makes 3 weeks I've been down because of this damn thing. F***!

K so I was geting this sucker to ready to send back to them but do you guys think that I should put it all back to gether. Also if I do and put the backplate on I'm afraid that they will not put the alen heads back into it, and give me those cheap poop screws again. What do you think?
