Hey everybody,

I put in an OS 18TM yesterday and the Revo runs like a beast now. Power on demand. I also had another tuned pipe put in and the stock exhaust deflector was too short and caused the entire rear of the truck to get filthy. So I made my own deflector...what do you think? With the body on, you barely see the tip. It slipped onto the stinger just right...not tight, but not loose either. Will the length rob performance? It doesn't matter if the truck is quieter, so long as it's cleaner and doesn't rob performance. If it does have negative effects, can I counter it by tuning? Thanks for any help.

i don't know if this work or even do any good, but i was thinking what if you turned the pipe the other way(so the tip points foward) then you can have a shorter deflecter. it would come down in front of the rear tire on the side of the truck. do you understand what i was trying to say? i don't know if it would work though, but hey, if you got free time give it a try.

adawg, that's a great idea. I have not looked at my Revo yet, but unless the mounting screws don't permit, it looks like by the photos it can be flipped over.

I tried rotating the pipe so that the stinger points down, but the deflector would have to be the same length so that it would clear the bottom A-arm and not result in it getting all dirty again. I was able to push the pipe back about 1/4 inch, therefore, I was able to cut about 1/4 inch off the deflector, so now the new deflector is about 1.3 inches longer than the stock one. I'm going to test drive it in about 30 minutes...I will post results of cleanliness and performance afterwards. :smoke:

Well, I did my test drive and it did not affect performance. Still fast :jet: and able to lift the front end. It kept the back very clean....only minimal splatter on the A-arm. Overall, a cheap and simple modification to help the back stay clean.
