so if i were to for example place an order from towerhobbies (or where ever) i would just fill in the address that you gave above into the shipping and PM you saying that its on its way?
just saw your other post about your track and what you said about it talking about 3 months. tell me whats good/fast (if that is possible?)

thanks btw for serving our country.

using the above address for shipping will get it to our Rear D will eventually get it in a hazmat container and on boat to here. I just had my wife drop a gal in box and i think she called it coolaid or something and it arrived today. I'd at least label it hobby supplies so your not exactly lying about it. As far as the second part, I am unclear on what good/fast is referring to. If you mean the track..that's easy, heavy equipment and a water truck. Don't work with dry dirt, it won't pack and hard to shape. And a lot of rake and shovel work to finish it.

What i ment to say was that if we send the fuel to that address but like you said call it 'hobby supplies' it will not have to wait for the hazmat container and all the paperwork and take 3 months.
Sorry that last post was confusing, made sense in my head but did not transfer.

Ha!...I know all too well how things sound in my head vs how i type them out...the wife reminds me all the time.
As far as the hazmat container, yeah man, I have no real idea how long that is going to take. If you are willing to chance sending via usps direct to me at my apo i'll pm you my direct mailing address. My wife already sent one gal successfully and it got here fairly quick with no issues. Like i said in a previous post, even the post office here told me to do that very thing. I just can't ask anyone to do that. But..should someone offer, i'll send my address. I have fuel here already....for me. all the fuel you (the guys here that are wanting to donate) send to me will be distributed throughout the AO.

Again, I thank you for the help. I sorta stuck my foot in my mouth and told everyone to get their nitro burners over here that I had fuel figured out with help of the forum. Now guys' cars are arriving and all I can do is tell them sorry. I'd love to dish out for everyone but i can only cover about 3 other people with the gal i had the wife send. It burns up quick and takes a while to get here. Obviously the guys that helped me with the track got first dibs.

CPT: Going to be home the end of the month for R-n-R. Will ship out at least one and possibly two gallons. PM me that APO and I will send direct. I sent my girl two cases of freeze pops to FOB Sharana in Afghanistan this past summer and they got there no problem. I will just have to send you some freeze pops as well...;)

Thank YOU!

PM'd you my direct address, keep in mind the only hurdle is your local post office, some check some don't care. Just let me know if it gets out so I can be watching for it on this end. Again, thanks for the help. Not everyone here has a wife willing to even try to get it through the post office. Mine, would probably mail me guns and tnt if I asked....lol Yeah, it makes me feel pretty darn special.:first_place:..lol

I am really looking forward to some freeze pops, summer is comming quick.

Byron Fuels

Just wanted to update you all trying to help us get fuel over here. Of all the different people I tried to get assitance from, I was recently contacted by a rep from Byron Fuels. I'm not certain as to what level of assistance they can provide but I have to give them props for at least showing interest and contacting me. I don't know what fuels you all run, but these guys seem to really care about their customers and the hobby. I'll keep you posted as it unfolds.

Ummmm.. the label will say freeze pops but DON'T drink the stuff! LOL! My point is I got liquids through so my labeling will make sense, and a case of pops and a gallon of fuel are about the same weight. Plus, I ship through an annex in my 'lil town so there will be no questions asked.

Unless you would rather have real freeze pops...

Will I have to thaw it to run it?

oh man, no thank you, plenty of frozen stuff over here. ;)no need for pops. I'll make available whatever you send. Oddly enough, I'll be on leave around the same time and will hopefully be putting a few boxes of necessities in the mail to myself as well. I was hoping to get a few runs on the new track before leaving but it appears the parts train is running a little slow  and will be waiting till i get back. Don't worry though, my 1SG is tracking what I am doing and will be holding my mail in safekeeping.

A contact at Byron fuels gave me info for one of their large distributors in Kuwait and I actually got a response from the email i sent. Apparently they have tried in the past to ship to here but have been unsuccessful. He is however very willing to help out if I can find a way to get it from there to here. Once I found out what area he is in, I'll try to get someone from L3 in the area, as suggested in a previous post, to pick it up and get it up here to us.

Also, more on Traxxas customer service....outstanding! I emailed to check status of parts requested, found out they sent to my house instead of here by accident. Told me to keep that one for when i get home and he'll send another here to me right away. I don't have much experience with other RC companies but their availability and willingness to help their customers is beyond what i am used to expecting from just about anyone and recommend traxxas nearly for that alone.....and that my Traxxas (timex) Revo can take one serious licking and keep on ticking.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I'm back in NY for the moment on a little R&R and been busy as hell. I'm avn as well, and not having too much issue with moving stuff in country, just getting it there. I'm still trying to find someone with an off post address in Kuwait that accept the fuel from Byron's and then bring it on post. They can ship it APO to APO at no charge. Still open to any other suggestions. At the rate I'm going we'll be pulling out of the country before I figure this out:\

CPT: Got a gallon going out to your addy that you PM'ed me at weeks end. Hope it arrives when you are back in country. Enjoy your R and R!

ok this is really easy to do. i did it for my uncle when he was there. first go get a bottle of that new blue mtn dew, emty it and fill it w/ blue fuel

Be back in action.

Ok, been out of the net for a while but waiting on a c-130 back to the chu as i type this. 1st, thanks for the fuel. I won't need it personally but I know many who will and will make available to them at the same price it was available to me. ....fifty bucks a gal. Ha, just kidding. As for you...you new revo guy, I'm comming for ya. I'll figure out who you are soon enough by watch my dust cloud and see who's controlling the car in it. Besides, there was another revo showed up there just before I went on leave and this thing was a tricked out ebay purchase......who paid about 2/3's of what i did...rat bastard, but he's a good driver and will probably be kicking both our butts. We'll be racing for second.
Lastly, I said the hell with sneaky and took the remaing 3 gal's of fuel i had at home, still in it's orginal case, threw in some spare parts, filters, radio crystals and some other crap in the empty whole from the first gal sent, wrapped it in brown paper and sent the whole case over. It should be here soon. I don't mind sharing that, but that was not donated and it will cost ya....at a very fair price so we can get more when the time comes.

Also!!, I met Leo Bitner here in kuwait returning from R&R as well. He is the AAFES rep at speicher. I will be giving him the Byrons fuel contact info in Kuwait when we both get back to our regular computers and email and he will be trying to set up a purchase order making it available to specific requesters. So, for the individual looking for a "legal and safe" way to get fuel over here, I may have your answer soon. I'm hoping to work a good price through the supplier and get that information to aafes but don't count it. I have no idea what the mark up on it will be but expect to pay a little more for it here. Use that hazardous duty pay to shell out a few extra bones to keep our wonderful supporting spouses, friends, family, and of course the excellent members of this forum from potential fines should anyone get caught with a leaky bottle of hazmat in the mail.

I'll post more once i get back and get settled in.

Byron

So, got out for a little track time with you the other day to give you your shot. Had a lot a fun but there was one spot on the track i had to keep slowing down because there was some dude spent most of his time bent over his car trying to figure out how to turn it on. Oh wait...was that you?:hehe:

Hi there Cpt Kirk

Geez you guys really have been struggling, I'll see what I can do to sort this out for ya......

Found some help from Friends to our South

The previous post is a Kuwaiti RC club and hobby shop owner operator of a growing business to our south and has a few contractor contacts in Kuwait. I have talked to him extensively about the issues with fuel we are facing here and has informed me, and the rest of us here as indicated above, that he is working diligently to find a way to get fuel to us. If he can figure out how to cross that bridge and get fuel flowing to all of us in need, I hope that we (deployed troops) show our gratitude by considering him for our other rc parts and supplies.

I don't think his site is fully functional yet but he is easy to contact and eager to help.

Broke Broke Broke

Ha ha ha! Yah thanks for all the help tuning or shall I say changing a broke clutch spring too! So I took the engine out last night and took the EZ-Start apart. Pretty cool to see what was in there. Must of hit a dead spot. I turned the electric motor a little hooked the wires up and gave her a shot of start juice. Let me just advise dont be stupid like me and dont juice the electric motor with the gear case cover off. I was looking for plastic gears for a bit but found them all! :whhooo: Back at the track tommorrow! Oh hows the shock sucka???:hehe:
