Almost 20 years ago my friends and I were into the TMaxx thing. Two of them still had theirs and I have brought them back to their former glory. Yesterday I happened upon the one I let go for sale. I immediately purchased it. It has an XTM big block conversion and lots of upgraded parts. I will start tearing it down soon. The other two are pretty stock but one is running an RB c12. The other has on OS .15 CV-RX.

There was an old Pro .15 in with the stuff and I did the Power up program and got a 3.3. It’s replacing the .12.

Love the trucks! Really digging the one with the rb concepts engine and ripple pipe.

I might transfer what I had already written elsewhere but I also recently came across an Old TMaxx which I once owned . I bought that lot mainly to get some Body shells and part it out,
But when I saw the TMaxx was complete and close to running then realized it was mine , I had to keep it.
I've been cleaning it up and tuning it that past couple days. It is running pretty well so far.
I’m also realizing how much I like nitro!

It's been a while but here is the update on the rebuild. Completely tore the truck down. The only things broken were the spring on the clutch shoes, the front diff cup and one bulkhead. The rear still had a Maxximizer diff cup and I was able to find another one for the front. Engine got a pinch, new bearings, con rod and a cooling head. Upgraded the steering servo to a JR DS8711 I had. New bearings throughout. It's all broken in and rips now. Still has all the Robinson Racing steel gears that I put in the transmission many years ago. I had to replace the fuel tank too because the Monster GT one that was on there was sucking air.

What wheels and tires are on that?

Very nice, clean looking T-Maxx. I still have two myself, one a mostly stock other than the drivetrain that is my "practice" truck, and the other is the race-day truck and is mostly aluminum and uses the same drivetrain as the practice truck. I love driving them, and a lot of the guys running Maxx's, Granites, and other 1/10 ET's are literally shocked at how fast T-Maxx's can get around.

Seeing your XTM maxx is like being in a time machine. I had the same chassis/conversion back in the day. Ran an OS21RG in it. Gutless engine by today's standard, but sure was reliable. A buddy of mine at the time had the dynamite conversion. It was made out of a lot better material and the fit/finish was better. He ran a HB Powerhouse 26.

My biggest issues with keeping it alive were the diffs. Also... bodies... Usually ended up running half a body and some weird roll bar or something on the rear with the new era 3 point for the center.

Feels like a lifetime ago!

Some wheels from 2001. Lol. The tires are what came on the TMaxx back then.

This has Robinson ring and pinions in the diffs too. I expect they will last another 20 years with the Maxximizer diff cups.

I didn't remember RRP making any of those. I had the RC Solutions tool steel spur and RRP steel in the transmission. They didn't make the large 2-speed gears at the time, but you could get the output gears and input gears.

They might be another brand. Just remember upgrading them back then.
