O.s 30vg worth rebuilding?

my os 30 vg in my savage x decided to lose compression the other day

I have ran just over 7 gallons through it so i can't complain to much it has been good to me.

But my question is is it worth a rebuld?

I'm pretty sure just a piston and sleeve will take care of it(bearings,crank and connecting rod seem good as recently rebuilt 7 gallons ago)

I can get just the piston and sleeve for about 68 bucks on ebay

BUT i can also get a brand new hpi k 4.6 pulled from a new savage x for just over 100 bucks!

So should i just go with the piston and sleeve or just add the extra 30 bucks and buy me a new 4.6?

I know the 4.6 aint quite as powerful but keep in mind here i am on a budget as times ar hard at this time (stupid holidays ) LOL

SO WHAT WOULD YOU EXPERIENCED SAVAGE BASHERS ON A BUDGET RECOMMEND ?

Well you could wait until after the holidays and I have OS 30vg pullstart with a gallon and a half through it that I am not using and could turn loose. For....eh...$130 shipped. Only problem is a ding in the cooling head from a Savy back flip over the wheelie bar.

You say its only had a galloon and a half through it?
