RC Driving Style
Hi guys,

I am planning to rebuild my NTC3 RTR during the winter time and I want to put some upgrades into it.
Here is so far what I am planning to buy:
1. Associated Nitro TC3 Brake Cam Bearing Set
2. Associated Nitro TC3 Swing Rack Bearing Set
3. Nitro TC3 Version 2 Suspension Upgrade Kit ASC 2319

Any other suggestions? I am planning to learn to drive on a track. Not to race yet (but who knows).

Now question about the "Fix":
I have a stripped screw which holds the dif case to chassis. If I use the "Fix" will I need these 4 screws again?
In this case I'll need to by a new Diff case and screws. Any recommendations for screw set?

Thanks in advance,
Igor

Just make sure to get good drivers for the replacement screws. As for your screws stock or try RCSCREWZ.

2speed tranny

When you use "The Fix" you will only use 2 of the original screws. I beleive it's the 2 screws towards the front of the car that won't be touched. The rear screws of the diff are replaced by 2 very long screws that go all the way through and come out the other side of the diff housing. That is where the cap screws mount on to from the other side. It's a very strong yet simple design.

BTW, if you plan to upgrade the rtr to the version2 design, just get the RTR Plus. It already has the upgraded rear and a lot of other hopups that the original rtr did not have.

The version 1 NTC3 needs front and rear.
The version 2 NTC3 can only use them in front.
So if you are planning upgrade rear suspension, you only need one set of "the fix".

Thanks guys.
I already have 2-speed transmission in my NTC3. Except rear suspension and engine, what are the other differences?

That is weird, I tried looking on ebay for The Fix, but couldn't find anything. I know he only sells on ebay. Give him a couple of days to see if he relists them.

Later...

I dealt with flyr0. Great seller. Bought 3 of the fixes from him just after hurricane francis. He still got the packages to me within the week and kept good communication.

Check the ebay Item number: 5924263778
I just ordered one. There still have 6 available.

No, it doesn't come w/ the diff case. You simply remove the short screws from your current diff case. Then you screw in the longer screws that come w/ the fix. Then you attach a long nut onto the end of the screw. This basically makes a sandwhich b/t your diff case, shock tower, and chassis. It is a simply yet really effective design.

Check out the pic and directions below. What you get are the two screws and the two shaft nuts which are in the plastic bag. The diff case is just for show.

Does Nitro TC3 Version 2 Suspension make big differnece in handling?

Version 2 makes adjustments to camber more easily accessed. Basically, they made the rear end similar to the higher end cars. It also did away with the ball cups popping off the rear. This was a consistent PITA, especially when the ballcups started to become looser from adjustment of the toe-in.

As far as handeling, nah. It's still the same. The new design dealt with common complaints.
