  1. Bashing
Hey guys So after having and bashing my new stampede the past few days I feel like if it had a wider stance i would be ALOT more stable and less prone to flipping so much. So essentially what I am looking for is maybe longer A-arms or something that would help me get that wider wheel stance. Also is there any way to get the larger 3.2 wheels mounted onto the stampede? Thanks for all the help!

any help? I really want to beef this thing up!

Larger wheels will just create more leverage which in turn breaks more arms.

That said, you can try getting RPM arms and something like these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-sets-14mm-Hex...Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item563b848364

They are 14mm hex, which will allow you to fit the larger tires/wheels like from the revo.

Or, you can just try normal 14mm hex's:

Would still suggest getting RPM arms or you will probably be busting them frequently otherwise with larger tires/wheels.

Here's another set of hex's:

They also make extended alloy arms... I'm not a proponent of alloy arms though:

so what do you recommend would be a solid setup? I have only had this thing a week and I have been bashing it like crazy on my mini moto track hitting gaps. I want stability but also keep the ground clearance. like I dont want it to be so extended that it looks funky or is bottoming out like crazy. I'm a total newb

yea it came with those same exact wheels. I'm thinking if I get those wider A-arms i will probably need to get the beefier suspension. Also i couldnt put those larger wheels on without getting the wider arms because that would definitely make it even less stable.

your really helping me out man i appreciate it! any chance you have come across some pictures of some of these mounted?

I used to run Duratrax Maximum Mt nitro a-arms on my pede. I had a set laying around, and they actually fit the bulkhead pretty good. I think I had to use a washer to take up a bit of a gap. Then I searched through my pile of tie rods and came up with the four I needed. Sorry I can't give you the exact specs on the rods. Those a-arms widened the front end about 3/4" per side. Then I just ran some front traxxas 2.2 rims on the back of the truck to bring the track width a little closer together. It was still slightly narrower in the back, just like stock.

Might be worth it to pick up a set:

Matt, what did you do for the rear axles? Did they slide far enough to deal with the extra width? Any issues with them binding or breaking?

Duratrax's warranty is pretty nice. Almost makes you want to go pickup a duratrax rig!

I left the rear end alone. I just used front rims (less offset) out back. The front end geometry stays pretty decent, with just a tad of toe in at full compression. I think pedes do that stock anyways. Using the duratrax axle carriers up front works out nicely as well, as the stock traxxas stub axle fits the duratrax bearings. I believe a little shimming is in order, but nothing extreme. I ran my pede like this for a few years, with no problems. Just keep in mind that the bulk head is the weak link on these rigs. An aluminum bulk is a nice upgrade for $25. It gets a little old replacing them after a couple funky landings. The wider a-arms add more stress than I figured they would. But the added stability is really a nice addition.

so you reccomend the wider arms? also with the 2.8 or the 3.2 " tires?
