Anyone have a nitro rustler 2.5? How do ya like it? Getting one soon just wanted to know the pros and cons. Thanks

I love mine! It's awesome in all aspects :) Fast, handles good, 2wd though.

Cool so have you found anything that you dont like? Is it pretty reliable? I just ordered mine and ordered a set of RPM arms too. I also want to get the lunsford Ti turnbuckle set. Have you broken anything yet? Thanks

No broken parts yet... and I've done quite a few cartwheels on accident!

A friend has one, and it seams like a very nice truck right out of the box. He has broken the plastic white part of the rear shaft 3 times. He replaced them with the aluminum parts and I had him losen his slipper slightly. I think the engine is so strong that it was putting to much torque on the shafts and they were snapping.
Since the weather has gotten better, we have been to the track a few times. The only thing he had to change was tires (bowties and directionals) to keep up with the compitition.
I am impressed with the performance though.

Yeah i have a few spare shaft parts around but if i have too much trouble i will go with the MIP shafts. Scence it is only 2wd that is alot of tourqe to the shafts. I have seen them twisted and snaped, deffinently a traxxas weak point!

it really dont handle good, My brother has one and it is not made for that speeds. it will wheelie going full speed becasue of the wind pushing up on the body and chassis.

I've had one for about 2 years...the shock towers are weak (go with CF)....the drive axles get sloppy really quick (MIP cvd's are a good fix)...the rear axle carriers are suspect (get extras)...the tranny is bullet proof...the stock tires are lousy (most are)...Mine was the Pro .15 engine, but any .12-.18 size will fit. I have a Hot Bodies .18 in mine with very little modification.
As far as handling, it has a terrible push, but you can get most of it out with some setup. Losi shock springs fit it...try the green ones in back, if you're not trying to jump a house.

I have had mine for about 3 months and I like it. The only problem is that it is to fast to handle on the track you can't keep the front down to turn. The stock shock towers are junk. I put the 22 tooth bell clutch but you can not get to top speed before it flips.

I just got It today and am working on the break-in. I put the RPM arms on it. So far it seems light and fast!

i just wanted to update my post up there^^^

since then, i have broken several parts on it very quickly. shock cap went in my 1st 5 min of bashing, same as the rear bulkhead and rear shocktower. it runs good but isn't the most durable truck in the world

Just after break-in I pintched my header and shreaded the rear tires and rims. So i got a new header and rpm rims with pro-line trac-ta-gator tires. POS stock tires.

From what i head when the Nitro Rustler 2.5 fist came out, it would wheelie non-stop and the stock pin tires on the rear would be lucky if they lasted during break in. But now TRAXXAS has a thing... free set of tires and rims for ur nitro rustler or nitro 4-tec with proof of purchase.

later

my rustler doesn't wheelie at all, and it's tuned fairly well. also, if you use the tires off-raod like they're supposed to be used, then they actually give really good traction and last a while.
