First, I never said you did not know what you were talking about. I simply stated that backing up your statements with factual information rather than making general statements is a better method.
Second, I never said I was an expert. While more educated than most, I find myself learning more and more about this hobby each day. Your reply above and the link you posted within it has given me more information. It also accomplishes the first thing mentioned in my reply. You have now backed your statement up with something factual.
Third, while you have backed something up with factual information you have also decided to take this to a personal level. Which I never did.
Your information causes me to wonder why the engine makers told me specifications of fuels their engines prefer that do not match what looks like a fair amount of fuels out there.
So, while I was misinformed about the oil content of Blue Thunder, the facts still stand. I do own two engines described as High Performance engines by their makers and the RC community. I have run 6 gallons (total, not per) of Blue Thunder through them. They still run like new, and I have yet to have a requirement to rebuild them.
So while your approach took a turn towards a personal attack (I'm guessing in response to what you viewed as one by me), I welcome the information. BUT I still disagree with your generality that Blue Thunder is a bad fuel.
As for TRAXXAS fuel, I wouldn't use it if you paid me to. So I could care less where it is made and who makes it.
I still wonder about your statement that lumps Blue Thunder. TRAXXAS and fuels with content greater than 14% together. By your own information, Blue Thunder shouldn't be in that group (with a 10% oil content).
Next, if you are waiting for me to applaud your efforts and say, "Damn, Les knows what he is talking about." I suggest you not hold your breath. Your face might turn as blue as the fuel I use.
I will concede this. I was wrong about the oil content of the fuel I use. Shame on me for not looking a little closer at my own information.
Thanks for the information. Have a nice day.
