hey
i know you need to keep your fuel cool, but to what exstent?
I've gone so far as to put mine in the fridge(when moms not home). but is that overkil, not enuff or just rifgt?? how cold is your fuel and how does it stay that kool?

I've never heard of keeping fuel cool. I mean you dont want to leave it in the sun or anything to bake but i my fuel is never anything but room tempurature.

i keep my fuel on the floor in my room, never have had a problem with it. like robriguez put, dont leave it out in the sun cuz the fuel will evaporate pretty quick. I'm tryin to think what the recommend temp range is for fuel....

My fuel is at room temp.Some of the racers at my local track use trinity nitro freezer bags on there fuel bottles.

Drag racers sometimes use a "cool can" under the hood to cool gas with ice before it reaches the carb. The idea is that cold gas would help cool the air going in the engine, increasing charge density. It is a sound theory, but the effect is very slight. It will have even less effect with alcohol.

Same here, I keep it at room temp underneath my bench.
The largest portion of the fuel is methanol (alcohol). Methanol is hygroscopic; it attracts moisture. This can cause your fuel to be contaminated with water, which will cause poor engine performance. Additionally, the UV rays in sunlight will eventually break down the nitro methane if the fuel jug is stored in sunlight for long periods of time. Don't forget to give your container a good shake before you use it as the oil and methanol will separate when left untouched.

Unless you want watered down fuel I would opt not to keep it in the refer because every time you take it out into a temp higher than which it is you will get condensation.

Good call EP. Yes, the constant changes in temp from the fridge to outside and back, I think, would be more bad than good.
I just keep mine out of the light and at a more constant temp.

Just keep it out of the sunlight and @ room temp.You will be fine, but liek somone said earlier on here shake the fuel a little before you use it.
