It seems to me that the price to switch your rc tires for new ones is insane. I mean, when you compare the size of the real tires to these, how do companies figure they can charge what they are, I think it's down right stupid. I found this out when I went to my LHS to find some nice road tires to switch out my stock ones on my XXX-NT because the back tires are bald now. Then I saw what to me is an insane price. But I guess they charge what they charge because they know they can get away with it, you need new tires, they are one of few providing it, so you have to pay or loose. Oh well I suppose eh, just another thing that's annoying to live with :ponder:

All I can say is this hobby is expensive even to do it cheaply costs a lot of money. Tire molds are expensive and thats what you pay for.

my new tires and wheelscost almost 70 dollars, but i didnt pay anything for them my parents decided to suprise me with all kinds of new R/C stuff on christmas :)

yes but the real siz tires cost that much almost. That's wat he's saying I think. I mean how hard is it to take like a gallon of liquid rubber drop it in a mold to let it harden. You have about 5 dollar tires right there probably. Then they give it to ur lhs and they jack it up like 45 bucks for a set of four 2.2s. I'm not even going to mention T-maxx or savage tires. those get jacked the most cuz they're the most popular trucks and most people will buy those. My mom owns a design/furniture store and she charges double price wat she gets them from the factory for. Why can't they just have factories that will ship anywhere to the public rather than selling them to stores? They'd still get the same amount of money. But I suppose no one would hhave jobs then. They could work at the factory :winnar: When my mom went to this market thing in California they would only let liesenced store owners in to get the factory price. Life just ain't fair

Mine cost 25.00 English Pounds (the pound sign doesn't show up) thats $44.00 US dollars for 4 pro-line turbo rats 4 ellergy wheels and 4 foam inserts, now isnt that price cheap?

Ok one more time for all those who didn't catch it the first time. The molds for tires are VERY EXPENSIVE TO MAKE, its not the amount of rubber you are paying for but the cost to have the molds made. I can get a set of great rc tires for 50-60$ that is the cost of 1 cheap (not high performance) regular car tire.

Yes, listen to blazer he knows what he is on about!
The moulds are expensive to make. You are also paying for quality and plus the HS has to make profit!

Yes the tires might be a little expensive but how often do you really have to replace em? Unless you are a hardcore racer I would guess you could get at least a year on a set of tires. Of course there are a few deciding factors that I did not mention.

Considering you use tyres where there made for, because if you use off-road tyres on-road there not gonna last too long!

my shop sells a set for about 20 to 30 bux preety good for on road and they sell a rs4 kit for 300 a max for 450 not the best prices but ya kno they need money too

I do see these valid arguments and all, but I still can't help but compare to the real tires, and they need molds too, and there's that many more people to pay for those full size ones, so to me it still doesn't make full sense. I think who ever is charging this insane price is just greedy because they know they can be, I mean it's not like you have much of an option if you need tires for your rc right. Life's full of greedy people so this really comes as not much of a shock to me, just to my unsuspecting wallet. I thought I came with enough for some tiny little tires for my toy, hobby, rc, but, I was wrong.

My lhs sells a maxx for 400.00 and a rusty for 300.00. I haven't needed any new tires for anything yet though. But I very much agree with Losi-HPI

i find the price of r/c tires not too bad 50.00 for a set of savage tires compared to 500.00 for a set of cheap mud grips for my truck. 1/10th acale tires are 1/10th the price. not too bad

I guess all lhs's are different. Some rich....some poor. Mine must be farely rich. All they carry is like every single traxxas part u can think of. Good thing I got a rustler and a maxx then huh:whistle:  :hbd: :microwave 8-0 :fro: :whhooo: :nuke:

i gotta agree with mudbug...its not that bad...

plus....everyone has a car and has to get tires....so they are mass produced...rc..not so many people...but there are lots of kinds of molds...henceforth it makes sence that the rc tires cost a lot
